A popular Russian entertainer features images of collapsing buildings in her latest music video, causing critics to charge that she is exploiting the tragedy of Sept. 11 and perhaps even sympathizing with the terrorist who downed the World Trade Center Towers.
According to the News of St. Petersburg newspaper, singer Alena Apina, said to be at the height of her career, is seen at the beginning of the video walking down a city street as buildings explode and collapse behind her.
Apina’s producers reportedly plan to book a United States tour for the singer, despite the fact that her video appears to glorify the tactics of the terrorists who attacked the U.S. on Sept. 11.
Pravda.ru reports that the entertainer plans another music video in which she will make love to Russian singer Boris Moiseyev, known for his homosexual orientation.
