Deborah Johns wants 1-on-1 meeting with Cindy Sheehan
While anti-Bush activist Cindy Sheehan continues to demand a second meeting with President Bush to ask him about the ongoing war in Iraq, another mother of a Marine serving there is now hoping for her own one-on-one session with the so-called “Peace Mom.”
Deborah Johns, the leader of Move America Forward’s “You Don’t Speak for Me, Cindy” Tour, will be in the president’s Texas hometown today, and is inviting her fellow Californian to a personal meeting.
“For three weeks Cindy Sheehan has made inflammatory and untrue statements about the mission our troops have been serving,” said Johns, who says Cindy’s demands of Bush are merely a way of continuing “her political and personal attacks against him. Yet, she admits that she won’t listen to a thing he says.”
“Well, I would like to talk to you, Cindy,” Johns continued. “We can talk one-on-one, in a respectful, private and sincere manner, one mother to another.”
Johns, of Roseville, Calif., has a number of questions already prepared for Sheehan:
She closes her invitation by noting, “It shouldn’t be too hard to find the caravan of military families I will be bringing to Crawford.”
The small Texas town has become the ground zero of sorts for both opposition to the war and support for the troops continuing to fight for Iraqi freedom.
Not only is Johns bringing a large group of protesters, but as WorldNetDaily exclusively reported, white supremacists are planning to hold their own rally this weekend, while Rev. Al Sharpton, a former presidential candidate, will be holding a prayer vigil there tomorrow.
