Deborah Johns wants 1-on-1 meeting with Cindy Sheehan
While anti-Bush activist Cindy Sheehan continues to demand a second meeting with President Bush to ask him about the ongoing war in Iraq, another mother of a Marine serving there is now hoping for her own one-on-one session with the so-called “Peace Mom.”
“For three weeks Cindy Sheehan has made inflammatory and untrue statements about the mission our troops have been serving,” said Johns, who says Cindy’s demands of Bush are merely a way of continuing “her political and personal attacks against him. Yet, she admits that she won’t listen to a thing he says.”
“Well, I would like to talk to you, Cindy,” Johns continued. “We can talk one-on-one, in a respectful, private and sincere manner, one mother to another.”
Johns, of Roseville, Calif., has a number of questions already prepared for Sheehan:
“I would like Cindy Sheehan to justify how her effort to undermine our troops’ mission does anything but dishonor those men and women in harm’s way?
“I would like to ask Cindy Sheehan why she emboldens the terrorists by calling our president a murderer and the ‘real terrorist?’
“And I would like to invite Cindy Sheehan to honor the requests from the overwhelming majority of our troops who ask the American people to not waver in their resolve to support the efforts our troops are serving in.”
She closes her invitation by noting, “It shouldn’t be too hard to find the caravan of military families I will be bringing to Crawford.”
The small Texas town has become the ground zero of sorts for both opposition to the war and support for the troops continuing to fight for Iraqi freedom.
