It’s about God, stupid.

Our country was born with this simple blessing:

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

This reason to exist, this basic premise regarding human life, is our salvation. If we never forget it, that is. And, by remembering our rights emanate from God, not man or his governments, we can make sense out of the nonsensical “world opinion” we hear so much about.

Fact: The United States was created and based upon the assumption there is a God. We declared that belief, in the kind of clear, direct language you’ll never see in any U.N. resolution. Americans believe our right to be free can’t be taken away by decree – freedom is non-assignable and can never be sold or taken. Our Founding Fathers wrote a Constitution to forever preserve these God-given freedoms.

(Note: That’s another reason why our Supreme Court justices can’t look to foreign law for direction! Our laws have nothing in common with theirs).

And therein lies the problem and the conflicts we experience with the United Nations.

The U.N. is a bureaucracy that does not derive its rights and powers from God. It is a God-less organization and its actions over the last many years bear this out:

  • Having a hand in creating present-day Israel and then treating it like an abused, adopted child;

  • It’s workers raping and abusing the very people it was supposed to help and protect;

  • Running cover for Saddam Hussein, aka “The Butcher of Baghdad,” and making money off Iraq’s oppressed poor and their children in what has become known as the Oil for Food scandal; and

  • Treating anti-Semites as if they were just another group with an opinion to be respected.

Frankly, this should come as no surprise. The United Nations knows of no higher power than itself. It has no accountability. It is not “of the people” and it does not derive its powers from a higher source. Because of this simple fact, the United Nations will always have a built-in bias against democratic republics that believe people have God-given rights which no form of government can ever infringe upon.

The United Nations has no moral or ethical underpinnings. None. It’s Frankenstein without the good looks.

Make no mistake, religion – the kind that doesn’t endorse be-headings and treating women far worse than misbehaving pets – threatens secular organizations. Secularists believe human rights come from governments. Any and all kinds of governments. That’s why secularists don’t have a big problem with the United Nations, or communists, for that matter. It’s why secular Democrats seem to have so much faith in Fidel Castro and Kofi Annan. Why not? They seem like nice guys who aren’t bogged down by all that religious gobbledegook! So far, so good!

The United Nations will always feel threatened by our country’s notion that God, not government, is the source of our rights. Now you see why secularists of all stripes took the lyrics to John Lennon’s, “Imagine,” to heart:

“Imagine there’s no heaven, It’s easy if you try … Imagine there’s no countries, it isn’t hard to do … And no religion too … Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can …”

This philosophy, this dream, is an open invitation to thugs and oppressors. God is the only thing, ultimately, that stands in their way. People believing in God know that His plan was for them to be free. The pursuit of life, liberty and happiness – which is counter to the beliefs of many of our not-so-united nations, Communists and Islamo-Fascists – is not sacred.

Have you ever stopped to think why Communists, the United Nations and Islamo-Fascists are so cozy these days? No wonder we see Communists and Islamo-Fascists doing so much business. At their core, they have much in common. They believe in oppression and their right to do the oppressing. One group does not believe in God and the other sees God as an excuse to rule the world.

That’s where the U.N. comes in. And that’s why we should drop out.

We must keep the faith, our faith, and lose the U.N.

Perhaps there needs to be a league of nations that honors faith. Because that is a simple, fundamental admission that all people are free as a result of being born on God’s Earth.

And think about this: The reason Al Gore and liberals never mention the Sun as even a small factor in the Earth’s climate is because they can’t control it. The Sun of God is too big, too omnipresent. The Sun does not fit their needs nor does it fit their plans. Or, better stated, their scheme. Man can be bullied, oppressed and deceived. Not so, the Sun.

Our faith is our salvation. It makes no difference if we are the only nation on the planet that believes there is a God and He gave us our right to be free.

God is about freedom, not oppression. And that is what America is about. Love
it, or lose it.

God gives life and liberty. Man taketh away … if we let him.

I would prefer to keep the faith and lose the U.N.
