No comparing Bush to Churchill

George W. Bush’s politically motivated decision to betray Israel by siding with the anti-democracy, anti-Western factions of the United Nations will prove to be his greatest blunder.
Bush has waved the white flag to Iran, while two proxies (Hezbollah and Israel) were serving their masters faithfully. Bush chose to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by shutting down Israel. Iran’s war was a test and the U.S. failed the test only 2 1/2 weeks before the Iran nuclear deadline at the U.N.
In doing so he has undermined his own doctrine on terrorism which states that those who aid, harbor, or support terrorism will be treated in equal terms to those who carry out terrorist attacks against Americans. Hezbollah, under the U.N. agreement, could authorize arms to itself since its part of the government.
Bush has effectively and clearly communicated to Syria and Iran, as well as to Nasrallah and bin Laden, that they have nothing to fear from America. By caving in to world pressure and refusing to show the consistency and moral clarity that the war on terrorism demands, Bush has shown his belly to the Islamofascists – and you can be sure they will exploit the vulnerability.
By siding with Kofi Annan (whose son was in bed with Saddam Hussein and profiting in the millions through the ”food-for-oil” scandal, and whose UNIFIL troops watched as Syria armed Hezbollah terrorists with 13,000 rockets), Bush has communicated to the Iranian government that he is more interested in protecting terrorist regimes than in protecting Israeli citizens.
The great tragedy is that Bush found himself in the middle of a nuclear Katrina with the key difference being he was in a position to stop the storm from hitting our shores. By sending the message to Israel that they will not be re-supplied and that their brave young men, whose blood is being spilled to protect American lives, are to be betrayed by the State Department’s moral and political confusion, he has effectively capitulated to the very terrorists Israel had on the run.
George W. Bush has handed Hezbollah a phenomenal victory. It is a victory that will prove catastrophic for Israel, the western democracies and America. The lives of our children and grandchildren will become increasingly more perilous because we have put mid-term election results ahead of facing the greatest threat to our freedoms since World War II.
There is only one way to win in this clash of civilizations. Winston Churchill understood this when he said spoke before Parliament on June 4, 1940 following the darks days of defeat at Dunkirk in which 338,000 allied troops had to be evacuated to English Shores:
”Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender …”
Conservative pundit Ann Coulter was once asked what came to her mind when she heard the name George W. Bush. Coulter responded, ”Winston Churchill.”
Look again, Ann.
After Bush’s morally impotent action, Winston Churchill would pound the table in defiance at such a comparison.
