LOS ANGELES – WND, the leading independent Internet news service, and World Ahead Publishing, a cutting-edge West Coast publisher, will join forces in 2007 on WND Books, the imprint responsible for some of the biggest non-fiction best-sellers of the last five years.
World Ahead Publishing was founded in 2004 by Eric M. Jackson, a former marketing executive with the Internet giant PayPal. After PayPal was acquired by eBay, Jackson and World Ahead co-founder Norman Book started a media company dedicated to advancing freedom while at the same time standing up for traditional values. World Ahead’s titles have included the bestseller “Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed” by Katharine DeBrecht and most recently “Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America’s Borders” by Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist and Jerome R. Corsi.
“With its New Media background, World Ahead Publishing is a natural partner for WorldNetDaily,” says Joseph Farah, who was a newspaper editor and publisher before starting the Internet news site a decade ago. “Through a combination of excellent titles and creative marketing they have established themselves as an innovative up-and-coming force in the publishing industry. I am excited to be partnering with them on WND Books.”
WND attracts more than 8 million visitors each month and is one of the New Media’s most influential news outlets. In 2002, Farah launched the WND Books imprint to publish books on subjects overlooked by the establishment publishing industry. In just five years of existence, WND Books has become one of the best known non-fiction imprints in the publishing world. Its influential books and bestsellers have included “The Savage Nation” and “The Enemy Within” by Michael Savage, both No. 1 on the New York Times list, “In Mortal Danger” by Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., “Guns, Freedom and Terrorism” by Wayne LaPierre, “The Third Terrorist” by Jayna Davis, and “The Marketing of Evil” by David Kupelian.
“WorldNetDaily helped set in motion the revolution of the news business by setting the new standard for expos?s and hard-hitting commentary,” notes Jackson. “It’s no wonder that WND Books is one of the premier imprints in the publishing industry. I’m looking forward to working with Joseph Farah and his team to further this tradition and continue producing excellent titles through WND Books.”
World Ahead Publishing’s WND Books imprint, which is currently published by Cumberland House, will debut in early 2007 and is expected to produce between six and eight titles per year. World Ahead Publishing will also continue to publish titles under its World Ahead and Kids Ahead imprints. The new WND Books imprint will be distributed to the trade by Midpoint Trade Books.
