“Stop the Presses!” by Joseph Farah already has been chosen by two major book clubs as a top pick for April 10, when it is officially released, but WND readers have jumped to the head of the line, making it their top choice this week at Shop.WND.com.
It is the story of the old media, what Farah now calls “the establishment media,” where he reported from the front lines of war zones, directed newsroom operations and served as editor in chief of major market dailies, before launching WND, a leader in the “New Media.”
“Joseph Farah was not just ‘present at the creation’ of the new media revolution, he helped instigate it. ‘Stop the Presses!’ is a fascinating and freewheeling look at how a harmonic convergence of politics, personalities and technology has forever changed the way Americans interact with their government, their fellow citizens, and the world,” said Rush Limbaugh, the most listened-to nationally syndicated talk show host.
“Stop the Presses!” is not just Farah’s story, but that of a new wave of media superstars who have forever changed the way Americans get their news and express their views.
Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Matt Drudge … these are just some of the New Media names that old-school media like ABC News has acknowledged “rule our world.”
“WorldNetDaily’s Joseph Farah is uniquely qualified to tell the real story of the ‘new media revolution.’ After all, he helped start it. This Patrick Henry of the Internet will have you hoisting a Sam Adams in celebration,” said Ann Coulter, author of five New York Times bestsellers, including “Godless,” “Treason,” and “Slander.”
“Stop the Presses” will have front-of-store display at major Barnes & Noble stores when it is released April 10.
In second place this week is “The Marketing of Evil” by WND Managing Editor David Kupelian.
It is the one book that Donald E. Wildmon, chief of the American Family Association, says is needed to solidify the reader’s Christian worldview.
“Simply excellent. If you want to solidify your Christian worldview – or just understand what the culture war is all about – you owe it yourself to read David Kupelian’s ‘The Marketing of Evil,'” Wildmon said.
“In years to come Americans will acknowledge a debt of gratitude to David Kupelian for his honesty, courage, and laser-like insight in this must-read book,” says Rabbi Daniel Lapin.
The book explains how those who support abortion, the homosexual lifestyle and other newly discovered “rights” in America are just marketers using strategic campaigns to sell their wares for the highest price possible.
Americans a generation ago would have been appalled by easy divorce, abortion on demand, extreme body piercing and teaching homosexuality to children – all common situations in today’s America. But the book notes that doesn’t mean that Americans are more morally confused or depraved than earlier generations.
It just means they are succumbing to “some of the most stunningly brilliant and compelling marketing campaigns in modern history.”
“Highly skilled marketers, playing on our deeply felt national values of fairness, generosity and tolerance, have persuaded us to embrace as enlightened and noble that which all previous generations since America’s founding regarded as grossly self-destructive – in a word, evil,” Kupelian writes.
“David Kupelian dares to tell the truth about the overwhelming forces in our society which take us far away from our original American concept of freedom with responsibility, happiness with commitments, and traditional values. ‘The Marketing of Evil’ is a serious wake-up call for all who cherish traditional values, the innocence of children, and the very existence of our great country,” said Dr. Laura Schlessinger.
In third place was “What Every American Needs to Know About the Quran,” by William J. Federer.
It describes how Muhammad had 15 wives and fought in scores of raids and battles, even cutting off the heads of 700 Jews. His followers conquered North Africa, the Holy Land, Persia and Spain within 100 years of his death.
It is described as a fast-paced and objective history of the world from a perspective “you never imagined.” And current events will come into focus in the backdrop of 1,400 years of inconceivable yet true events and conflicts outlined in the book.
“Read How Sultan Mehmet II conquered the 1000-year-old Byzantine capital of Constantinople – how Jefferson sent Marines to capture the Muslim Barbary pirate port of Tripoli – Woodrow Wilson tried to save millions of Armenian Christians killed in Turkey. You will not be the same after you have learned what every American needs to know about the Quran.”
