Gaza, the Temple Mount, the West Bank, and other Middle East locations are at the center of some of today’s key news events, as they were in biblical times, and WND readers have decided at least they will know exactly what’s going on where, putting “Nelson’s Complete Book of Bible Maps and Charts” in the top position this week at Shop.WND.com.
The publication is updated and packed full of visual aids that offer a deeper understanding of the Bible. Its reproducible maps, charts, tables and surveys allow the reader to put in perspective disputes over the Al Aqsa Mosque, the disputed West Bank territories, and the conflict along the border with Lebanon.
“Whether you teach a Sunday school class, lead a Bible study, or just want to get to know the Bible better, this resource is a great addition to your study library,” the book’s description said.
It’s described as an invaluable tool that illuminates the Scriptures through:
- A visual survey and timeline of the entire Bible that helps put major biblical events, books and characters in context.
- Surveys and charts that offer an overview of each book in the Bible.
- Easy-to-read maps that locate key events.
- Historical articles that provide insight.
- Tables and charts that explain key biblical issues.
- And an introduction to each book of the Bible that organizes important information.
In second place this week is “Darwins Deadly Legacy (DVD),” hosted by D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries.
This presentation gives examples of the “frightening social impact – and the mounting evidence that Darwin had it wrong on the origin of life.”
Experts including Lee Strobel, Jonathan Wells, Phillip Johnson, Michael Behe and Ann Coulter document the horrible results of Darwin’s “theory.”
“To put it simply, no Darwin, no Hitler,” said Kennedy. “Hitler tried to speed up evolution, to help it along, and millions suffered and died in unspeakable ways because of it.”
“Among German historians, there’s really not much debate about whether or not Hitler was a social Darwinist. He clearly was drawing on Darwinian ideas,” said Richard Wiekart, author of “From Darwin to Hitler.”
The presentation looks at the grim social impact of Darwin’s ideas.
In third was “The Marketing of Evil” by David Kupelian, WND’s managing editor.
It is the one book that Donald E. Wildmon, chief of the American Family Association, says is needed to solidify the reader’s Christian worldview.
“Simply excellent. If you want to solidify your Christian worldview – or just understand what the culture war is all about – you owe it yourself to read David Kupelian’s ‘The Marketing of Evil,'” Wildmon said.
“In years to come Americans will acknowledge a debt of gratitude to David Kupelian for his honesty, courage, and laser-like insight in this must-read book,” says Rabbi Daniel Lapin.
The book explains how those who support abortion, the homosexual lifestyle and other newly discovered “rights” in America are just marketers using strategic campaigns to sell their wares for the highest price possible.
Americans a generation ago would have been appalled by easy divorce, abortion on demand, extreme body piercing and teaching homosexuality to children – all common situations in today’s America. But the book notes that doesn’t mean that Americans are more morally confused or depraved than earlier generations.
It just means they are succumbing to “some of the most stunningly brilliant and compelling marketing campaigns in modern history.”
“Highly skilled marketers, playing on our deeply felt national values of fairness, generosity and tolerance, have persuaded us to embrace as enlightened and noble that which all previous generations since America’s founding regarded as grossly self-destructive – in a word, evil,” Kupelian writes.
