If anyone ever needed a lesson as to the folly of giving Palestinians “land for peace,” let them talk with the people of Sderot, Israel. Since turning over Gaza to the Palestinians in exchange for a promise of peace in 2005, they have rained almost 1,400 rockets on this formerly peaceful town. It has become so intolerable in the last week that thousands were forced to leave their homes in an exodus to safer ground. More than 50 rockets have hit Sderot in the last three days.

Instead of making any move toward the peace they promised, the Palestinians have done just the opposite. They crowned their rejection of “peace” with Israel by voting in the radical terrorist organization Hamas as their government. Hamas campaigned on the promise that it would never make peace with Israel and would destroy it.

They have smuggled in tons of Russia’s most lethal weapons via tunnels on the Egyptian-Gazan border after the Israeli Defense Force pulled out. Egypt promised to guard the border if the IDF pulled out. As with every Muslim promise to Israel, they did nothing to guard the border.

As a result, Gaza is now an armed camp. Palestinians have deadly anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles that can threaten Israel’s main airports and rockets with longer range and more lethal warheads that can hit the vital fuel off-loading and refining areas south of Ashkelon. If they hit Ashkelon’s facilities, they could cause an ecological nightmare. All of this courtesy of Iran and Syria.

If the West Bank is given over to the Palestinians, as the American-led West is pressuring for, there will be no safe place to flee. The terrorist regime will be able to bombard 80 percent of Israel’s population and 90 percent of its industrial capacity.

The PA and Hamas have reinforced and exponentially increased hatred against Jews. This is true even down to the pre-school level, using a Mickey Mouse look-alike to teach hatred and dehumanization of Jews and the glory of becoming a suicide bomber to kill them. The Israelis now call the cartoon figure “Martyr Mouse.”

Just imagine the citizens of El Paso, Laredo or San Diego being faced with such a daily bombardment from Mexico. And we would intercept TV programs for school children that taught them to kill as many Americans as possible for “stealing their land.” How long would we tolerate it? Would our citizens not retaliate despite PR concerns?

Yet the world community acts as though it alone can decide when Israel has the right to defend itself. If any nation on earth has a right to the land they are standing on, Israel has more of a right.

The title deed to the land was given to them by the unconditional oath of the Creator of the Universe. He predicted that He would discipline them for their failure in faith, but also predicted He would bring them back in the last days despite the protests of all of the surrounding Arab nations.

If you don’t believe that, then we can go to the right of every modern nation on the planet. All nations today are sitting on land that they conquered from someone. So by “right of conquest,” Israel has a right of ownership as well. And Israel has the high moral ground for this right, because it conquered its land when attacked by multiple Arab nations bent upon its destruction – not once, but five times.

If the world community were dealing with nations without vast oil reserves, there wouldn’t be such vehement interference in Israel’s claim to its land. After all, we all sit on land by right of conquest. As a man who is part Apache, I can bear witness to that.

The God of Israel has prophetically warned the nations of our time who would usurp HIS LAND. God carefully sets the time this would take place: “After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely.” (Ezekiel 38:8 NKJ) This refers to the modern state of Israel.

Then God warns the nations who would try to prevent restoration of His people to the land He promised them:

Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because the enemy has said of you, ‘Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession,’ therefore prophesy, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because they made you desolate and swallowed you up on every side, so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations, and you are taken up by the lips of talkers and slandered by the people” – therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD! Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains, the hills, the rivers, the valleys, the desolate wastes, and the cities that have been forsaken, which became plunder and mockery to the rest of the nations all around – therefore thus says the Lord GOD: “Surely I have spoken in My burning jealousy against the rest of the nations and against all Edom (all Arab peoples), who gave My land to themselves as a possession, with wholehearted joy and spiteful minds, in order to plunder its open country.”‘ Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains, the hills, the rivers, and the valleys, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations.” Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: “I have raised My hand in an oath that surely the nations that are around you shall bear their own shame. But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come.” (Ezekiel 36:2-8 NKJ)

Who owns the Holy Land? God says He does – and that He gave it to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and their descendants. He predicted the world would protest His will. But God predicts the Messiah Jesus will have the last word at Armageddon.
