If Israel doesn’t own the land explicitly and repeatedly decreed to them by God in the Torah, then no nation can ever claim better title to any land on earth.
– Dr. David Meltz, former dean, John Marshall Law School
Recently, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, practicing shuttle diplomacy, jetted over to Israel to meet with President Mahmoud Abbas to affirm that the U.S. still enthusiastically supports his Palestinian “government” and proposes to reinstitute the moribund “Two-State Solution” policy of dividing the land between Israel and the Palestinian people, creating an autonomous Palestinian state.
Can true peace in the Middle East be possible when the political reality dictates that the Palestinian people in January 2006 freely elected Hamas, a political entity created solely for Israel’s national immolation? Hamas – an unabashed Islamic terrorist organization that receives tens of million of dollars annually in money, food aid, weaponry and military training from Iran, Syria, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, American Muslims and other Arab states without a peep from the U.N. or any other nation of the so-called “world community.” While men of goodwill may differ on this point, men of rationality and moral resolve must concede the answer to be an emphatic “No.”
To better understand the paradigm I pose above try substituting countries – with America taking the place of Israel and al-Qaida taking the place of the Palestinians. In this analogy, would any rational person ever seriously implement a national policy of carving out a “territory” – let’s say, California – for a “homeland” for the al-Qaida terrorists and their families? Most Americans, even during these crazy PC (perversity correct) times I think would rise up in revolt at such a wicked idea of giving a group of people, sworn by their Muslim religion to our destruction, to occupy one square inch of land that our American forefathers secured by their own blood, yet this is precisely the policy America is forcing Israel to accept.
The Bush administration’s Two-State Solution policy toward Israel is a colossal failure. There is precedent here. In the early 1950s, Sen. Joe McCarthy knew personally the utter futility of appeasing Nazis, Communists, tyrants and terrorists when he boldly proclaimed: “You cannot offer friendship to tyrants and murderers … without advancing the cause of tyranny and murder.”
Equally galling on the other hand is that President Bush, in full descent of his presidency into lame-duck status and desperate about his legacy, is forcing Israel to commit national suicide should Prime Minister Olmert or a subsequent Israeli leader be pressured by us into another disastrous “Oslo Accords,” into another false land-for-peace treaty under the craven and diabolical pretext of securing an American president’s legacy. To me, one drop of Jewish blood costs infinitely more than 10,000 barrels of cheap Arab oil.
In A.D. 70, the Roman General Titus put down a Jewish revolt by destroying Jerusalem, razing the Jewish Temple and utterly ravaging greater Judea. For 19 centuries, the Jews were scattered to the four corners of the earth until that fateful day of May 14, 1948, when the U.N., no doubt in part out of guilt and embarrassment from its treacherous policies against the Jews that lead to their genocide and the Holocaust, granted a “partitioned” homeland to the Jews in what was then called “Palestine” on a resolution that passed by only one vote. That day Israel made history, becoming the only nation since the dawn of civilization that lost its country and got it back again – twice – the first time being 586 B.C. by King Nebuchadnezzar of ancient Babylon. The Jews returned 70 years later under Ezra, Nehemiah and Haggai. Let me caution my Israeli friends here: Israel should not push its luck – three will definitely not be the charm.
Unlike our preening, pusillanimous, pontificating leaders here in America, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad doesn’t have an ACLU or a socialist propaganda press to deal with, and he is systematically assassinating any leftover liberal university professors from the Shah’s era, thereby effectively crushing all dissent. Ahmadinejad means what he says. He is deadly serious about making a nuclear bomb and “wiping Israel off the map” – and who will stop him? There is no man, as the prophet Ezekiel lamented, “to stand in the gap.”
The paradox of America’s treacherous Two-State Solution policy against Israel is that in the end it will neither bring peace to the Middle East, stabilize oil prices, nor save Israel, but instead will plunge the world into Armageddon because every American dollar we spend on Arab oil, be certain that a dollar is going into the coffers of some Muslim terrorist group that will continue to kill our brave American soldiers. America’s lust for Arab oil is tantamount to buying the wood for our own coffins.
For Israel to survive it must do five things quickly: 1) Israel must strike out on its own (they are practically alone in the world anyway with the exception of the duplicitous U.S.); 2) Israel must make no apologies to anyone justifying its existence or its self- determination as a sovereign nation in the world community; 3) Israel should re-elect former Prime Minister Benjamin “Bebe” Netanyahu, leader of the conservative Likud Party. Netanyahu (the Hebron issue notwithstanding) seems to be the only Israeli politician who still believes that giving up land will not achieve peace; 4) Israel should follow maxims Ronald Reagan used to combat Soviet Communism: “Peace through strength” and “Trust, but verify”; and 5) Israel must put its 100 percent trust in the power of the God of their Covenant, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, because America and it’s treasonous Two-State Solution foreign policy against Israel will only destabilize our faithful ally as it loses more and more territory to its Muslim enemies, leading to its eventual national suicide. May God forbid.
Monday was the 59th anniversary of the Jewish state’s rebirth. Happy birthday, Israel – may you survive and thrive forever.
