They are the few, the brave, the ex-Muslims. And their stories,
“Why We Left Islam: Former Muslims Speak Out,” has reached the top of the best-sellers list at

The penalty for renouncing Islam is death, which makes the stories of those who fled its restrictions and commands all the more remarkable.

Compiled by journalist Susan Crimp and theological expert Joel Richardson, the stories – sometimes shocking and brutally honest – reveal a truth that many in the media – and a fair number of cowed politicians – won’t admit.

That is instead of being a “religion of peace,” Islam is both barbaric and repressive, and a nightmare for both those living under it and those confronting it.

For example, Ali writes, “The Quran is full of verses that teach killing of unbelievers and how Allah would torture them after they die. There are no lessons on morality, justice, honesty, or love. The only message of the Quran is to believe in Allah and his messenger.”

Added Divyan, “I don’t exactly remember what wrote doubt in my mind. Maybe it is Lord Buddha and his teachings or a glance at Jesus and his sufferings … then quite shockingly I realized my beloved prophet is a misfit.”

It also cites heroes such as Basharee, who said, “People who have not lived in Dar Al-Islam cannot and will not understand the level of
indoctrination Muslims undergo for their entire lives… If you’ve never used your mind but rather simply lived under the culture
of submission (“Islam” means “submission”), your ability to think withers.” he wrote.

Even before its recent release, the book had hit the No. 1 spot on Amazon’s
category. It also has created considerable opposition from organized Islamic lobby groups such as the Council of American
Islamic Relations, with spokesman Ibrahim Hooper denouncing it.

But the work by Crimp and Richardson details the stories from insiders who have decided to
tell the world about their experiences.

“Powerfully written and deeply compelling, these accounts of people of conscience who left Islam are rendered all the more
poignant by the realization that each one of them, whatever their status or situation, lives under the death sentence mandated by
the Muslim Prophet Muhammad for apostates from Islam,” noted Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch and author of the
New York Times best-sellers “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)” and “The Truth about Muhammad.”

“This book should be required reading for human rights activists and all those who value the dignity of the human person,
so that they will see why this horrific denial of the freedom of conscience within Islam must be resisted by all people of good
will,” he said.

In second place is the Former Embryo on Board Magnetic Bumper Sticker.

“Those ‘Baby on Board’ stickers are designed to get motorists to slow down and become more cautious drivers,” the promotion describes. “This WND original … suggests drivers should be cautious all the time.”

The message is that human life is human life – no matter the stage of development.

“If you are a former embryo yourself and would like to make a pro-life statement that might put smiles on the faces of those around you, this is the bumper sticker for you,” the description says.

In third place is the Defeat Obama, Osama and Chelsea’s Mama” bumper sticker. It gives in six words a message similar to Ronald Reagan’s summation of his victorious strategy for the Cold War.

That, however, required only four words: “We win, they lose.”

The new bumper sticker is a straightforward statement of priorities as the 2008 presidential candidates banter about plans to cede the war on terror, candidates’ friends stand by disturbing speech expressing hatred of the United States and there’s an apparent complacency with the new morality of abortion advocacy and alternative sexual lifestyles.

It is for those who simply cannot remain silent any longer about their concerns.

It targets for defeat terrorist Osama bin Laden as well as Democratic presidential candidates Sens. Barack Obama of Illinois and Hillary Clinton of New York.

The WND bumper stickers are magnetic and removable, and are perfect “not only for your car, but for your refrigerator, file cabinet – anything metal where you want to make a statement.”

Bumper stickers at that also include “I Love America” and “Pro Choice on Lightbulbs” are offered singly and in packs of 5, 10 and 25 for gift-giving.

WND’s online store,, is the place to go for unusually clever magnetized bumper stickers that last and never deface surfaces to which they are applied.
