As I have written in the last two weeks, those who voted for Obama got change, all right. Socialism is change. Government takeover of health care is change. Criminalizing Christianity through “thought crime” legislation (HR 256 and HR 262) is change. And putting Christians out of business through the so-called “Employment Non-Discrimination Act,” or ENDA, is change.
But the attack on democracy and the attack on our freedoms is only the start. The attack on life is first on Obama’s list. It wasn’t on his desk yet, so he didn’t get to sign the radical Freedom of Choice Act, or FOCA, though he promised Planned Parenthood he would as his first act as president. So he decided to spend more of our hard-earned tax dollars and send more than $1 billion to promote abortion in countries where citizens want to protect their children. By reversing the Mexico City policy, Obama is pushing for child killing in countries like Guatemala where people don’t want it.
I received an e-mail from a woman in Guatemala who wrote:
Your country’s president, Obama, is looking to fund abortions internationally, and I am very frightened they will want to make abortions legal in Guatemala. Guttmacher Institute has been working here for years, getting people together to convince legislators and public opinion that abortions are the way to help women.
I need you to help me with ideas and get organized to start making a public opinion, a PRO-LIFE public opinion, before this thing strikes.
Beyond using $1 billion of our taxes to push abortion on nations that don’t want it, Obama makes it clear on the White House website that he supports embryonic stem cell research. That is, using human beings for spare parts for research which, unlike adult stem cell research, has never worked.
Then, there is the abortionist dream bill: The so-called “Freedom of Choice Act” that would wipe out every pro-life law we have worked to pass in 36 years.
Each incremental inch of pro-life protection was fought for and defended against enormous obstacles including the well-funded abortion lobby, the media and the activist courts. It’s an intense battle I know firsthand; I spent nearly 10 years of my life as the legislative director of Ohio Right to Life (1988-1997) where I lobbied for passage of bills including:
The nation’s first ban on partial birth abortion
The “Woman’s Right to Know” bill (which provides informed consent)
Fetal homicide, (protecting the unborn child from an attacker other than an abortionist)
And legislation to defund all abortions in the state
Every one of these laws would be wiped off the books with Obama’s signature on the so-called “Freedom of Choice Act.” Every one of these laws and more … in all 50 states! Thirty-six years of pro-life sacrifice would be gone – overnight. But more importantly, millions of children instead of being protected by these laws, would be brutally dismembered and burned alive by the ultimate child abuse we conceal with the word “choice.” Those babies don’t get freedom. They don’t have a choice. Once again, it’s about the strong ruling and destroying the weak. So much for protecting the “least among us,” as Obama promised to do. What he doesn’t know is that obeying scripture is far more important than quoting it.
And all of this death is promised to be sealed with court appointments that will continue to legislate this abortion agenda from the bench.
This isn’t about rhetoric. This issue isn’t about statistics. It’s about life and death. And in the last election, whether with full knowledge or not, 69 million Americans chose death on Nov. 4, 2008. The consequences of that choice are clearly spelled out in Deuteronomy 30 in verses 19 and 20:
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.
Unless you’re Jeremiah Wright, you don’t sing “God Curse America.” No, we want blessings. But with the choice of death comes a curse against us – as a nation and individually against those who made the choice of death last November. How’s our country doing right now? Would you say it’s being blessed? How are you doing right now? Are you ready to repent yet? Of course, the wages of sin aren’t always paid immediately. There would be a lot less sin if they were.
The attack against our democracy, our health care, our freedoms and life itself – this is the change you ushered in when you cast your vote for Obama. Repentance is a prerequisite for revival. It’s the only way to receive God’s favor and His blessing.
If death and destruction isn’t the kind of change you had in mind, join the 60 million American voters who did not cast their vote for Barack Obama, and help us fight for life, liberty and the family before it’s too late.
Then, make sure your state does what 20 others are planning to do right now: Pass state sovereignty (and anti-FOCA) resolutions that declare that their state laws cannot be touched by the Feds. Arizona, California, Georgia, Hawaii, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Washington are considering sovereignty bills this year. Legislators have pledged to introduce similar bills in Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Nevada and Pennsylvania. Make sure your state is on the list, or risk losing every law passed by the will of the people.
