Michael Savage (San Francisco Chronicle)
WASHINGTON – Michael Savage, the author of four best-sellers and the host of the third highest-rated radio talk show in the U.S., joins WND today as a regular and exclusive columnist.
Savage will offer up some of his essays for the commentary section of WND, while others will be linked to his website, MichaelSavage.com.
“It is a great honor and privilege to offer Michael Savage’s insights into the news at WND,” said Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of the world’s largest independent news source on the Internet. “He has an immense following because he is witty, entertaining and fearless. We have partnered with Savage on many projects – his website, two No. 1 New York Times best-sellers and now a column.”
According to Inside Radio, Savage’s Talk Radio Network syndicated program, “The Savage Nation,” has grown to reach over 10 million listeners each week. Talkers magazine, which bills itself as the leading trade publication for talk media industries in America, ranked Savage the third most important talk show host in the country for 2009.
“They said I wouldn’t last 15 hours, but I’ve lasted 15 years,” says Savage in an audio clip posted on the Inside Radio website.
Savage is trained as a scientist, holding master’s degrees in medical botany and medical anthropology and earned a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in epidemiology and nutrition science.
Savage is also the author of 20 books, four of them New York Times best-sellers.
“The Savage Nation” broadcasts weekdays from 3-6 p.m. Pacific Time and can be heard on more than 300 stations across the country.
