Americans go crazy for birth certificate postcards

A new campaign to wish the president a happy birthday is a hit.
“White House Eligibility Postcards,” which offer readers an opportunity to send Barack Obama a birthday greeting this year, was the top product among best-sellers at at the WND Superstore for the week of July 5-11.
Though he has never released a long-form birth certificate, Obama claims to have been born Aug. 4, 1961, in an unnamed Honolulu hospital that has yet to take credit for the historic birth of the baby who would become America’s first black president.
So the SuperStore designed and printed postcards for the occasion. The front of the card raises the question: “Where’s The Birth Certificate?” The back is open for your personalized greetings. The postcards measure about four inches by six.
“I’m encouraging Americans to send these postcards in plenty of time for Barack Obama’s birthday,” said Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND and someone who has made it his personal mission to find that missing birth certificate. “This is an opportunity to anyone to send two messages at once to Obama – one concerning the search for truth about his constitutional eligibility for office and the second your own personalized note.”
The postcards can be used to send notes to anyone – not just Obama.
“These postcards are not pre-addressed to the White House,” he said. “They are postcards that can be used to send to your friends, your member of Congress, your relatives. It’s just another way of keeping the issue of eligibility on the front burner – right up through 2012 if necessary.”
The postcards are just one of the efforts by Farah to raise the visibility of an issue he says was ignored by his colleagues in the media and most of the nation’s elected officials, including Republicans.
In second place at the WND Superstore was another high-profile way to raise the question: WND’s “Where’s The Birth Certificate” Magnetic Bumper Sticker.
Farah, who also has organized a fundraising effort to buy up billboards, says on Aug. 4 “people in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area take their automobiles and trucks sporting ‘Where’s the birth certificate?’ bumper stickers to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”
“Take videos. Take pictures. And spread the word. Wouldn’t that be a nice birthday surprise for Barack Obama?”
The question is very simple: Where is the documentation that Obama, indeed, qualifies under the requirements of the U.S. Constitution to be president? The bumper sticker allows people to make a bold demand for the truth.

WND has reported extensively on the issue with a report called “THE FULL STORY” that lists more than 200 exclusive WND stories on the question.
Recently, the entire transparency portion of the White House website on “open government dialogue” was overrun with citizens calling on Obama to release his elusive “long-form” birth certificate to establish his constitutional eligibility to serve as president.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs earlier laughed at the reporter who inquired about the long-form birth certificate at a news briefing. But the national billboard campaign launched by Farah already has raised tens of thousands of dollars, and a number of billboards have been erected.
That campaign followed one launched months earlier to collect names on an electronic petition demanding accountability and transparency on the issue. So far, the petition has gathered nearly 400,000 names.
In his questioning of Gibbs, WND White House correspondent Les Kinsolving specifically made reference to the WND petition.
“Are you looking for the president’s birth certificate?” Gibbs responded incredulously. “Lester, this question in many ways continues to astound me. The state of Hawaii provided a copy with the seal of the president’s birth. I know there are apparently at least 400,000 people – (laughter) – that continue to doubt the existence of and the certification by the state of Hawaii of the president’s birth there, but it’s on the Internet because we put it on the Internet for each of those 400,000 to download. I certainly hope by the fourth year of our administration that we’ll have dealt with this burgeoning birth controversy.”
It was the first time any member of the press corps has publicly asked a member of the administration a question directly related to Obama’s constitutional eligibility for office as a “natural born citizen.”
The “Certification of Live Birth” posted online and widely touted as “Obama’s birth certificate” does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same “short-form” document was easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii. The true “long-form” birth certificate – which includes information such as the name of the birth hospital and attending physician – is the only document that can prove Obama was born in Hawaii. But to date he has not permitted its release for public scrutiny.
Oddly, though congressional hearings were held to determine whether Sen. John McCain was constitutionally eligible to be president as a “natural born citizen,” no controlling legal authority ever sought to verify Obama’s claim to a Hawaiian birth.
Both the petition and the billboard campaign are part of what Farah calls an independent “truth and transparency campaign.”

In third place is “The Third Jihad,” a DVD that explores the existence of radical Islam in America.
It also looks at the emerging risk that such a “homegrown jihad” poses to national security, western liberties and the “American way of life.”
The film is narrated by devout Muslim American M. Zuhdi Jasser, opens with the following statement: “This is not a film about Islam. It is about the threat of radical Islam. Only a small percentage of the world’s 1.3 billion Muslims are radical. This film is about them.”
In 72 minutes, the film reveals that radical Islamists driven by a religiously motivated rejection of western values, cultures and religion are engaging in a multifaceted strategy to overcome the western world.
In contrast to the use of “violent jihad” and terror to instill fear in “non-believers,” “The Third Jihad” introduces the concept of “cultural jihad” as a means to infiltrate and undermine our society from within.
