WND Books, the first publishing venture launched by an Internet content company more than six years ago, has hired a new editor to oversee acquisitions and editorial planning.
Jim Fletcher, a veteran of the book publishing industry, joins the team that is gearing up an expanded line of current events non-fiction offerings in 2010.
"I am excited to be part of a team that produces books the public needs to read," Fletcher said. "With more publishers becoming politically correct by the day, WND Books' refreshing, maverick approach is something I feel privileged to be part of, particularly with so many pressing problems facing our country."
A writer and editor in the book publishing arena since 1993, Fletcher will work closely with WND's editorial and marketing team, selecting projects from a wide-range of writers specializing in newsmaking issues.
Fletcher, with a degree in journalism from College of the Ozarks in Missouri, worked in the newspaper industry before being named editor-in-chief for New Leaf Publishing Group in 1993. While there, Fletcher coordinated book acquisitions and production for hundreds of titles. He launched his own book writing career in 2007, publishing titles with Regnery and Strang Communications.
Fletcher also writes the "Writer's Bloc" column for WND's Diversions pages.
