President Obama is so dedicated to promoting homosexuality he’s putting the “twisted sexual desires” of adults before the needs of children and deserves to be “rebuked” for his unwise decisions, according to several Christian groups in a Father’s Day statement.
Black Christian News Network “is calling upon true men of God across this country to rebuke this unwise president for suggesting this ungodliness before our nation, and help him understand that his presidency is in jeopardy, and not because of the oil catastrophe in the Gulf,” the news organization said in an online commentary today.
“The Gulf catastrophe is in fact a result of Obama pushing a homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage. It is also a result of him trying to make the U.S. government sanction this foolishness,” said BCNN.com.
“Our president is so committed to normalizing homosexual conduct that he is putting the twisted sexual desires of adults ahead of the needs of children,” added Tim Wildmon, president of the American Family Association. “And with his push to repeal ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ he’s putting the twisted sexual desires of adults ahead of our national security.”
The lobbying to which the organizations objected came over the weekend in an Obama Father’s Day statement to the nation.
“Together, we can support the guiding presence of male role models in the lives of
countless young people who stand to gain from it,” Obama said. “Nurturing families come in many forms, and children may be raised by a father and mother, a single father, two fathers, a stepfather, a grandfather or caring guardian.”
“This is the first time in our nation’s history that a president has used Father’s Day as an excuse to promote the radical homosexual agenda and completely redefine the word ‘family,'” Wildmon said.
“Virtually all Americans have the common sense to recognize that children need both a mother and a father. Rudimentary biology tells us it’s impossible for a child to have two fathers. But here we have the leader of our nation and the Democrat Party celebrating sexual behavior which is contrary to nature and pushing a household structure that we know is harmful to children. This is a sad day for the American family.”
He said the statement clearly “shows how out-of-step the president is with most Americans. Same-sex parenting is not in any way the moral or functional equivalent of the parenting done by a mom and a dad.”
Black Christian News reports news events from “a black, Christian perspective for the glory of God.”
Executives there wrote, “Where [are] T.D. Jakes, Eddie Long, Charles Blake, Joel Hunter, Creflo Dollar, Charles Stanley, Noel Jones, Jack Graham, Pat Robertson, Kenneth Ulmer, Rick Warren, Joel Osteen and James Dobson? Where [are] Tony Evans, Frank Page, Al Sharpton, Kirbyjon Caldwell, Ed Young Sr., Ed Young Jr., Jonathan Falwell, Dwight McKissic, Jesse Jackson, Floyd Flake, Frederick Haynes III, David Jeremiah and John Hagee? Where are the preachers and prophets who know that homosexuality is an abomination in God’s sight and is also against nature itself, and that two homosexual men cannot be ‘fathers’ in the normal sense of the word?
“It is time for America’s preachers (both those named above and those unnamed, those who support the president and those who don’t, both black and white), who still believe that the Bible is the Word of God, to stand up against the homosexual agenda that President Obama is pushing and anything else that goes against the Word of God. It is time to let the president and all of America know that homosexuality is an abomination against God and that Christians in America will stand against it no matter who is pushing this diabolical agenda.”
The statement from the White House:
From the first moments of life, the bond forged between a father and a child is sacred. Whether patching scraped knees
or helping with homework, dads bring joy, instill values and
introduce wonders into the lives of their children.
Day is a special time to honor the men who raised us, and to
thank them for their selfless dedication and love.
Fathers are our first teachers and coaches, mentors and
role models. They push us to succeed, encourage us when we
are struggling, and offer unconditional care and support.
Children and adults alike look up to them and learn from their
example and perspective. The journey of fatherhood is both
exhilarating and humbling – it is an opportunity to model
who we want our sons and daughters to become, and to build
the foundation upon which they can achieve their dreams.
Fatherhood also carries enormous responsibilities.
An active, committed father makes a lasting difference in the
life of a child. When fathers are not present, their children
and families cope with an absence government cannot fill.
Across America, foster and adoptive fathers respond to this
need, providing safe and loving homes for children facing
hardships. Men are also making compassionate commitments
outside the home by serving as mentors, tutors or big brothers
to young people in their community. Together, we can support
the guiding presence of male role models in the lives of
countless young people who stand to gain from it.
Nurturing families come in many forms, and children may
be raised by a father and mother, a single father, two fathers, a stepfather, a grandfather or caring guardian. We owe a
special debt of gratitude for those parents serving in the
United States Armed Forces and their families, whose sacrifices
protect the lives and liberties of all American children.
the character they build, the doors they open and the love
they provide over our lifetimes, all our fathers deserve our
unending appreciation and admiration.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the
United States of America, in accordance with a joint resolution
of the Congress approved April 24, 1972, as amended (36 U.S.C.
109), do hereby proclaim June 20, 2010, as Father’s Day.
I direct the appropriate officials of the Government to
display the flag of the United States on all Government
buildings on this day, and I call upon all citizens to observe
this day with appropriate programs, ceremonies and activities.
Let us honor our fathers, living and deceased, with all the
love and gratitude they deserve.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this
eighteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord
two thousand ten, and of the Independence of the United States
of America the two hundred and thirty-fourth.
“If an adult man chooses to embrace homosexuality, that’s one thing. But two men imposing their homosexual lifestyle on an innocent, impressionable child – thus intentionally denying that child a mother – is something quite different. Shame on Obama for ‘gaying down’ the noble institution of fatherhood to appease his homosexual activist supporters,” said Peter LaBarbera, chief of the Americans for Truth.
He accused Obama of “currently working to subvert” both the Defense of Marriage Act as well as the legal ban on open homosexuals in the military.
On the BCNN website, “Ila” wrote on a forum page, “Homosexuality will always be an abomination in the eyes of God. Just because people of same sex decide to get married does not make it right in the eyes of God. It’s still wrong, abominable, detestable and sin in the eyes of God.”
Another poster wrote, “There’s nothing much you can do when people make it clear they love man more than God. Pray for them, but don’t argue. Satan has their minds and hearts. They belong to him. Again, just pray for them.”
Another said, “As a staunch supporter of Pres. Obama, I am APPALLED that the President would emphasize a gay agenda in an address celebrating Father’s Day. This part of the proclamation is both an ‘unwise’ and unneccessary (sic) gesture of inclusion that goes against God’s will especially as it relates to healthy families. ”
Today, Obama released a statement explaining how impactful his administration has been on “responsible fatherhood.”
“As the president has said, while no government program can remedy the problem of father absence in America, government must do its part to help fathers facing challenges.
President Obama has proposed a new Fatherhood, Marriage and Families Innovation Fund that will scale up effective fatherhood and family-strengthening programs across the country.”
The statement also cites his work last year to begin a new “national conversation on fatherhood.”
