The secret of how America was rapidly transformed from the era of Ronald Reagan to that of Barack Obama in just over two decades is the focus of a lively talk by best-selling author and WND Managing Editor David Kupelian, broadcast live on C-SPAN from Washington, D.C.’s Heritage Foundation.
Kupelian’s 30-minute address, based on his just-released book “How Evil Works,” will be rebroadcast this weekend on C-SPAN’s Book TV at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, and again at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, July 25, and can be viewed online in its entirety here.
The talk was part of the 17th Annual Eagle Forum Leadership Summit, presented annually by Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagle Forum. During the July 15-16 conference, some 200 college students from around the nation heard talks by prominent members of Congress, including Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis.; Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C.; Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.; Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla.; Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, Rep. Tom McClintock, R.-Calif.; Rep. Trent Franks, R.-Ariz. and several other congressmen, as well as several activists and authors – including Kupelian.
In “How Evil Works,” his just-released book and wellspring for his talk, Kupelian probes the ancient question of evil through a modern journalist’s eye, once again demonstrating his uncanny knack for demystifying complex, elusive and intimidating subjects with fresh insights into the hidden mechanisms of seduction, corruption and power politics. Diving into today’s most electrifying news stories – from terrorism and school shootings to high-profile sex scandals and political dysfunction – Kupelian explores such profoundly troubling questions as:
How does terrorism really work?
Why are New Age religions becoming so popular?
Why do so many celebrities who “have it all” – talent, fame, good looks, wealth, adoration – end up self-destructing?
Why are big lies more believable than little ones?
Why are boys doing worse in school today than girls?
Why do we treat mental, emotional and spiritual problems like anger and depression with drugs?
As with his previous book, “The Marketing of Evil,” Amazon reviews of “How Evil Works” show Kupelian’s work packs a powerful punch for many readers, including these:
- “David Kupelian is a great author, with an uncanny ability to make clear what is sometimes very difficult to even see, let alone understand.”
- “This is the most thought-provoking current-events book I’ve ever read, far and away the best book of the 21st century so far.”
- “This is one of those books that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”
New! “How Evil Works” is also available as an audiobook version on eight CDs.
