Today's 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse

Last week I wrote an article about four courageous justices of the Supreme Court who from (1933-37) held back many of FDR’s New Deal programs utopian socialists and the Democratic Party concocted outside of constitutional strictures to purposely enslave America into a perpetual Marxist welfare state. A hundred years ago President Woodrow Wilson institutionalized this government-created tyranny called Progressivism.

President Obama’s 22.5 percent unemployment rate (actual) and his crushing $14 trillion deficit can be traced to those fascist policies instituted by Wilson and FDR.

One of my readers sent me this earnest correspondence regarding how FDR’s New Deal programs ruined his father’s farm:

One important ruling you did not mention was Wickard v. Filburn. The Supreme Court ruled against a small farmer here in Ohio because of his five acres of wheat he used to feed his own livestock due to the now infamous Commerce Clause, which has become a catchall for anything the federal government wishes to do, and to hell with what anyone thinks.

This ruling was the end of my father’s farming in 1945. Although I was only a kid of 11, I remember the petty bureaucrats that came to our farm to tell my father what and how he was going to plant his 125 acres. It has become a slippery slope, and I feel that it cannot be stopped, especially with a couple of judges we now have.

~Bill Scantlen

I replied:

Hello Bill: … I know about the Wickard case, but since my angle was to show the Four Horsemen cases their majority affected [1933-37] and since the Wickard case was 1942, after they all left the Court, I couldn’t fit it in. Thanks for sharing your father’s tragic story. It’s a shame such tyranny could happen in America. I may use your story for a Part 2.

As Mr. Scantlen painfully recalled, the high court in the Wickard case set the precedent for Congress under the Commerce Clause to regulate even the food grown by a man on his family farm used solely to feed his own family.

Our current Four Horsemen are Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas, Antonin Scalia, Samuel Alito and Chief Justice John Roberts (and liberal moderate, Anthony Kennedy). They have already done yeoman’s work to protect our liberties, but there remains much work to be done.

Obama tried to dominate the Supreme Court like FDR did in the 1930s, but the Court pushed back. Recall the case Citizen United v. Federal Election Commission (2009), which overturned 100 years of Democratic Party hegemony against corporate contributions to a political campaign – restrictions that, if removed prior to the 2008 election, I imagine would have caused Barack Obama to be the Salieri of American political history.

President Obama, on Jan. 27, 2010, showed his utter contempt toward the Court when he spoke before a joint session of Congress. Why was he so angry? Thanks to the Four Horsemen, the Court would now treat corporations as persons with full First Amendment rights, namely the freedom to make campaign contributions for political speech.

The moment came as President Barack Obama was, as the Associated Press puts it, “scolding the high court.”

“With all due deference to the separation of powers,” said Obama, last week the Court “reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests – including foreign corporations – to spend without limit in our elections.”

Has America already reached the point of no return regarding fixing the catastrophe of FDR’s Supreme Court? Consider the following liberal fascist policies:

Wilson, FDR, LBJ, Obama and the Progressive movement effectively made federalism a dead letter.

Will the modern Four Horsemen save us and rule unconstitutional Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, public sector unionism, bloated pensions, the welfare state, the Great Society, Bush’s Medicare Prescription Drug Act and Obamacare? None of these socialist programs would have been possible if our 100 senators weren’t slaves to D.C. special-interests groups and were loyal to the Constitution and state’s rights.

As soon as the proper cases are presented before them, I hope the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (plus Kennedy) start systematically ruling unconstitutional the policies cited above. If not, America may soon reach a point of no return where the Constitution will become increasingly irrelevant and despised while unscrupulous politicians on both sides of the aisle continue the Faustian bargain of Americans foolishly voting for politicians who promises to give them the greatest amount of largess from the federal treasury.

Where should we start? We must starve the Leviathan beast of what it covets the most – money. The 112th Congress should pass a 30 percent across-the-board cut of all government programs, including all entitlements and earmarks. The Supreme Court must overrule the welfare state, the Federal Reserve and the IRS if America’s republic is to survive. I realize I sound Pollyannaish, but once we take away politicians’ power to recklessly print and steal money, Congress will be unable to run up unsustainable multi-trillion dollar debts and deficits.

We need the Four Horsemen to save America’s republic before the Democratic Party and the original Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are unleashed to plunge the civilized world into perpetual fascism and anarchy.
