WASHINGTON – A youth adviser to 255 “at-risk” students in a New York City public school requested a donation from WND Books of 20 copies of Burt Prelutsky’s “Portraits of Success” in hopes they might inspire the young people to achieve.
“I recently read the book “Portraits of Success” by Burt Prelutsky,” said William Anderson, senior case manager at Washington Irving High School. “I thought it was amazing and very interesting and inspirational. It would be just the thing to inspire and help some of our young people to READ and realize they have purpose.”
Joseph Farah, chief executive officer of both WND and WND Books, was thrilled at the request and approved the donation.
“Portraits of Success: Candid Conversations with 60 Overachievers” profiles diverse celebrities from many walks of life – entertainers, politicians, journalists.”
The list includes Rep. Michele Bachmann, pundit Michael Barone, actor Orson Bean, former U.N. ambassador John Bolton, singer Pat Boone, actor Ernest Borgnine, actress Morgan Brittany, singer Ray Charles, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Pat Sajak, former major league pitcher Curt Schilling and media entrepreneur Farah, who founded WND as the first independent Internet news agency.
“The youth that I deal with are at risk of dropping out of school and life,” said Anderson. “I believe we must give them hope and inspiration to continue their education and pursue their goals. I think this book “Portraits of Success” will inspire some of them to READ and pursue their goals without a shadow of doubt.”
