Usually hunting season has a beginning and an end. But then, that usually involves taking a weapon and using it to kill some animal, for sport or for food or both.
Maybe you haven’t noticed, but there’s a different kind of hunting season out there that has no beginning and no end.
Well, that’s not exactly correct. There is an end to it, but it only comes about when the hunted creature is decimated, totally wiped out, destroyed, wiped off the face of the earth – as in wiping out all Jews or the total destruction of the United States.
We’ve heard those lines from militant jihadists over and over again, to the point that many in the West don’t really believe it.
That’s a mistake they will live to regret.
Another mistake they make is to ignore the open season by Islamists on Roman Catholics, their religion and indeed the entire church.
The latest assault is a lawsuit against Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., which claims CU doesn’t properly provide for Muslim religious practices.
The man behind it is a professor of public interest law at George Washington University, John F. Banzhaf. He’s also an attorney, and his lawsuit alleges human rights offenses against Muslim students.
Banzhaf claims that Muslim students “must perform their prayers surrounded by symbols of Catholicism – e.g., a wooden crucifies, paintings of Jesus, pictures of priests and theologians which many Muslim students find inappropriate.”
What a shock it must have been for students to see Catholic artifacts on a Catholic campus. Are these people smart enough for college?
He claims that Muslims were “offended” because they had no special place to meditate and instead had to use classrooms or the campus chapel which had crucifixes or religious pictures, or “the cathedral that looms over the entire campus – the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.”
According to University officials, they’ve received no formal complaints by any Muslim students but that hasn’t deterred Banzhaf.
He maintains his position and considers the “offense” a case of discrimination and a violation of human rights. The complaint has been filed with the D.C. Office of Human Rights, which will investigate.
While there are no “specific spaces” reserved for Muslims to pray on campus, there are spaces available for them and other students who desire such areas for their personal prayers.
It appears Banzhaf has it in for CU and its religious identification. He’s filed several other complaints, one being against the decision of the school to mandate same-sex dormitories. He claims that illustrates discrimination against women.
Apparently it is a human rights issue and co-ed dorms should be required.
One issue that seems to get lost in the mix of this nonsense is that Catholic University is a private, Roman Catholic institution. It has a legal right to have religious art and artifacts on campus and in classrooms and buildings. It has a legal right to have rules and regulations that conform to its religious beliefs and standards. It has no obligation to provide for the religious preferences and demands of individuals of other faiths who freely choose to enroll and become part of the student body.
It appears that John Banzhaf considers that it’s a human rights violation for a Catholic school to be – Catholic.
In his arguments, he references that Georgetown University, also a Catholic institution, provides Muslim prayer rooms.
It should be noted that the good, Catholic Georgetown caved to political expediency when Barack Obama was to speak on that campus and asked that all religious symbols be removed from the speaking area so they would not be seen on TV cameras.
It was a shameful decision and explains why Georgetown makes concessions to Muslims on campus and why, in my opinion, it does not deserve to be considered Roman Catholic.
These accusations against Catholic University are all just a part of the
open season on Christians across the world. Media neither fully report the massacres of innocent Christian men, women and children nor the rampant destruction of their churches in Muslim countries.
Media self-censor and ignore the elimination of Christians from those countries. It’s as though it’s a voluntary emigration – although by media standards, when you move because you’re constantly in fear of your life, that’s voluntary.
It’s not and it reflects a mindset on the part of Muslims in those countries that their goal is to literally exterminate those they consider infidels. In other words, if you are not one of them, you are nothing and deserving of destruction.
In those countries, it’s working and thus far, the world ignores the horrific truth.
In Western countries, it’s more subtle and legal moves like the ones against Catholic University are perfect examples. Present the case as though Muslims are the poor, put-upon victims of powerful religious organizations, which hate them.
Twist the law and the guidelines and attempt to gain concessions as a result of guilt, liberal mushiness and – dare I say it – fear.
Never forget that when Islamists consider themselves discriminated against, they resort to threats and violence. Using that tactic, they succeed in silencing the media and often, everything else.
If this new assault on Catholicism is successful, it’s just a matter of time until the terrorists really do win.
What would Jesus say?
