Faulty genes raise risk of skin cancer

A skin-cancer breakthrough has uncovered three new genetic faults which increase the risk of developing the most deadly form of the disease by 30 per cent.
Scientists have for the first time discovered faults in the genes which are not related to a person’s hair, skin or eye colour.
The remarkable finding could one day lead to a test to identify people most at risk of melanoma and even help scientists develop treatments for the killer disease.
