El Paso County Commissioner Peggy Littleton will introduce a resolution today that would essentially get the county to opt out of a portion of the National Defense Authorization Act that’s making its way through Congress.

Although the main purpose of the act is to authorize military spending, several sections pertaining to the detention of terrorist suspects have created an uproar among an unlikely cluster of opponents, including Tea Party followers, members of various “Occupy” movements and the ACLU.
