A stunning video that shows how quickly people can change their minds about a major social issue when presented with the facts already has reached nearly two million views, an average of more than 20,000 per day, since its release.
But now Ray Comfort, creator of the award-winning movie “180,” says he’s making plans to multiply that viewership by 100.
Comfort, whose work is documented on his Living Waters website, says the message is so important it needs to be distributed widely.
“It’s not just a pro-life movie – it is a pro-everlasting life movie,” he said. “It has had nearly two million views … and we have an exciting (secret) plan to get that to 200 million before the end of 2012.”
The “180” film is a straightforward revelation that, first, many people simply are unaware of the diabolical evil imposed on the world by Adolf Hitler, and, second, they are largely unaware of the facts about abortion and its tremendous toll on life in the U.S.
The pro-life video shows eight people who are pro-abortion changing their minds and becoming pro-life. In addition to the online viewership, the video has sold hundreds of thousands of copies.
“People can’t get enough of this because it’s changing minds about the hot-button issue of abortion,” Comfort said of the project.
He said his goal in 2012 will be to spread the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“At the end of every year I sit through CBS’ miserable parade of Hollywood celebrities who passed into eternity during that year. My heart breaks because I know that they are just a handful of the 159,635 who die each day (Guinness Book of Records 2012, p. 103).
“As Christians, we have found everlasting life in Christ, but according to statistics many of us don’t think this is worth spreading. We have become silent on that issue and instead become politically passionate,” he said.
“However, evangelism was the primary agenda of the church in the book of Acts. It wasn’t to bring about change for a better life by changing Roman politics. That would have been to put the cart before the horse, and when that happens you aren’t going anywhere. That’s what has been happening in America for the last 30 years,” he said. “Think about the moral issues we face and ask if they have got better or worse – abortion, pornography, violence, homosexual marriage, divorce, pedophilia, adultery, blasphemy and fornication. Every issue has escalated because the church has attacked the fruit, when it should take the gospel and go for the root.”
In the movie, Comfort tells young adults that Adolf Hitler legally killed millions of Jews. Some of the Jews were ordered to be buried alive, and Comfort shows documentary footage of that happening and reports of Jews who survived. He asks them, “Would you have done that?” Nearly all of them say no, except for two Neo-Nazis.
Ted Baehr, publisher of the Christian family magazine MOVIEGUIDE®, explains, “Ray makes the connection between Hitler’s right to choose to kill Jews, who Hitler said were less than human, and the holocaust of abortion.
“Within a few minutes, one by one, he convinces several of the people he’s interviewing that they are really pro-life. He then goes on to confront them about their salvation and several, though not all, accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.”
Baehr added, “Comfort does a great job of helping these young people turn their lives around through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has many reports of people who’ve seen the movie and been transformed.”
The following video includes many testimonies from individuals who experienced the same eye-opening revelation after watching “180.”
Once she had watched “180,” available from the WND Superstore, one woman wrote, “After seeing this video, I made the solid decision to proceed and keep my baby.”
Another said, “When I finished watching the video, I couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t believe I was going to kill my child.”
One more astonished viewer asked, “How could you ever be the same after watching this?”
