(POLITICO) — Mitt Romney finished a pre-emptive victory lap in New Hampshire Saturday morning, laying out for voters what he’d do as the GOP nominee—and expressing confidence that he’ll get that chance.

The former Massachusetts governor wrapped up his brief trip away from the Iowa trail with a packed “Breakfast with Mitt” event here. Hundreds filled the restaurant and overflow lounge to hear the candidate who’s hoping that a strong showing in the caucuses, followed by a large margin win in his primary stronghold, will propel him to an early wrap-up of the GOP nomination fight.
