On Tuesday, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) finished a disappointing sixth in the Iowa caucuses. It was a steep fall after her Ames Straw Poll victory back in August. On Wednesday, Bachmann announced she was suspending her campaign.

“Last night, the people in Iowa spoke with a very clear voice, and so I have decided to step aside,” Bachmann told supporters in West Des Moines.

“I have no regrets, none whatsoever,” Bachmann said. “We never compromised our principles and we can leave this race knowing that we ran it with utmost integrity. We made a very important contribution to this race.”
