WASHINGTON – There are just five days until the critical South Carolina primary, and with former Utah Gov. Jon Hunstman’s decision to abandon his campaign there are only five candidates left.
But the results are far from certain, according to South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan, who was interviewed on the subject by Greg Corombos of Radio America.
The race is close between Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum "is gaining ground," he said.
"Voters are very undecided," Duncan said. " They're trying to find which candidate to line up behind.:
Duncan said it probably was a little premature for Huntsman to endorse Romney as some sort of inevitable pick.
He also discusses what he thinks the nation needs early in 2013 if Republicans take Congress and the White House – and want to begin the cleanup from Obama's years of vast borrowing and spending.
