Press 1 for Spanish

Everything is political.

The feds sue states for trying to enforce the concept that for a foreigner to sneak across our border is – dare I say it? – illegal.

States try to require photo ID to vote because there’s so much voter fraud. Under our system, literally anyone can vote, as many times as they want.

You would think elected officials would care about the value and sanctity of the vote in our form of government. But they don’t. They only care about the potential votes by illegals.

Just keep ‘em happy!

In California, Los Angeles Democrat Assemblyman Gil Cedillo is one. He’s the author of the Dream Act. Part 1 takes effect in 2012, allowing public colleges and universities to administer private scholarships to illegal-alien students. In 2013, they can award public money for scholarships.

Remember, that’s to illegal aliens.

Cedillo has been beating the drum for years to allow illegals to get California driver’s licenses. He’s pretty close with his proposed A.B.353. It changes police procedures with drunk drivers who do not have their license. The driver can’t be arrested, and the car can’t be impounded.

The rationale is that illegals who don’t have their cars would have no way to get to work!

Of course, the fact that it’s illegal for an illegal alien to work in this country is ignored as is the fact that the person is here illegally!

As Iowa is upon us, and the early primaries not far behind, it’s hard not to look at the political landscape. Heaven knows, the consultants and politicians look and it’s not trees they see; it’s people, of different colors and languages.

The U.S. landscape, is crowded with people. Most are Hispanics, many are illegal aliens who are in this country – as we are insistently, repetitively and boringly told to find a better life.

Yawn!

What is consistently left out of that utopian, pandering scenario is that “finding a better life” has always been the reason immigrants have come to the U.S. They did then; they do now.

It’s not new.

Immigrants come here, learn the language, learn the culture, become citizens and, with few exceptions, make a better life for themselves and their children. Many of the immigrants of the 1900s were just as poor and uneducated as the Mexicans today.

The big difference today is that millions of these “Hispanic immigrants” are here illegally – along with, I might add, millions of “OTMs,” as the Border Patrol affectionately calls them – “Other than Mexicans.”

In other words, there are illegals here from virtually every other country on earth.

They plot and plan and often pay huge amounts of money to coyotes to get them here, putting themselves and their families in danger. But because we’ve made the payoff so good, they’re willing to take the risk.

Why not?

Think of it: If they can manage to get across the border, they can spread out geographically, move into barrio ghettos for the protection of their own kind, have access to American housing, food, clothing, education, medicine and jobs. They don’t even have to learn the language because we provide translations.

Just last week, the Obama administration launched a full-time staffed “hotline” for people arrested on immigration violations “If they believe they may be U.S. citizens or victims of a crime.”

Huh?

Citizenship? Who needs it when they can vote, get jobs and not pay taxes?

They bring their families, have babies who become U.S. citizens at birth and then use their parenthood as leverage to stay here.

How cool is that?

Of course, they’re helped by the politicians who want their votes, and also because so many religious have bought into the myth that it’s the obligation of the United States to be responsible for everyone in the world.

The good padres make excellent use of the tried and true tactic of guilt.

To hear the media, you’d think they were all little Mexican farmers wanting to pick lettuce. Hah. That’s the legacy of mush-headed progressive, leftist thinking that laws don’t matter, borders don’t matter, culture doesn’t matter, language doesn’t matter.

The only thing that matters is a vote and to the progressives – yes, the Democrats – every illegal is an extra vote to help pull the “presidential barge Obama” over the finish line, again.

Just take a look at what has and hasn’t been done to smooth the way for illegals to blend in and leave them untouched by the law, which is charged to keep U.S. citizens safe in their own country.

Unfortunately, that’s not a concept shared by the Democrats and certainly not the man who is president.

Unfortunately, it’s also a concept that too many Republicans buy into under the guise of human rights and fairness.

No, Fairy Godmother, it’s not FAIR I wasn’t born a beautiful princess who lives in a castle and will marry Prince Charming and live happily ever after.

It’s also a reflection of a supreme lack of courage to stand up for what is right for their country.

The president and Congress are charged by the Constitution with maintaining the safety and security of the country, i.e. borders, and of U.S. citizens.

In addition, Article 4, Section 4, guarantees that every state shall be protected against invasion.

If thousands of illegals swarming across the border weekly isn’t a foreign invasion, what is it? Why isn’t it stopped?

But, I’m not president, and I’m not seeking congressional re-election.

I’m just an American who doesn’t like to see my country sold out.
