WASHINGTON – Missouri Rep. Todd Akin says people in his state are fully fed up with Washington, and he’s getting a lot of positive responses to an anti-Washington campaign on which he’s embarked.
The interview:
He’s seeking the Republican nomination to challenge longtime Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill later this year.
“One of the things we’re hearing consistently is the public is really fed up with politicians,” he said in an interview with Greg Corombos of Radio America for WND.
He said he gets a lot of interest in the types of things he would push in the Senate.
“Capping the size of the federal government, balancing the budget, talking about repealing Obamacare and stabilizing the currency, auditing the Fed. Basically significantly cutting back all of these agencies,” he said.
“These are things that resonate.”
