Savage: 'Dictator' Obama 'coming out of his chrysalis'

With recent moves such as “recess appointments” widely regarded as unconstitutional and a declaration that he must act without Congress, President Obama is becoming increasingly brazen, says top-rated talk-radio host Michael Savage.

“We’re watching a dictatorship emerging now where he is literally coming out of his chrysalis and showing his true nature,” Savage told his listeners last night.

Referring to Haiti’s family of dictators, Savage said that Obama is a “Junior Doc Duvalier” but soon will become a “Papa Doc,” with “one unconstitutional move at a time with virtually no opposition.”

“This is, of course, how power is grabbed, day after day,” he said.

Savage has warned that if Obama wins re-election, America will become like Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s dictatorship.

The most egregious event yesterday, Savage said, was Obama’s announcement at the Pentagon that he wants to slash the U.S. military budget.

Savage said if Obama gets his way with the military he will make the U.S. a “paper tiger.”

“When you look at the photograph of the so-called Joint Chiefs of Staff, what you see are yes men who are afraid of losing their positions,” he said.

“Not one of them had a word of opposition to the president, who said we will no longer be able to fight two wars.”

Savage said Obama clearly is appeasing his “radical base.”

“The left wing has long desired to destroy the military,” he said. “Obama is a radical of the highest order.”

If Obama is reelected, Savage said, “eliminating the Second Amendment” will follow.

“If they can gut the military, and not a peep comes out of the media, why couldn’t he seize your guns?”

Obama, Savage said, “is getting away with every dream of the radical left, one step at a time.”

On Wednesday, against the position of his own Justice Department, Obama made four “recess appointments” while the Senate was not in a declared recess. He filled three spots on the National Labor Relations Board and appointed former Ohio attorney general Richard Cordray to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an intrusive federal agency established last year by the Dodd-Frank law.

Also on Wednesday, Obama declared in a speech in Shaker Heights, Ohio, that, if necessary, he would move his agenda forward without Congress.

Referring to opposition from conservative Republicans, he said that “when Congress refuses to act, and as a result, hurts our economy and puts our people at risk, then I have an obligation as president to do what I can without them.”

“The man is out of control,” Savage said last night.

His show airs live Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern. It can be heard online through stations such as KSTE in Sacramento.
