Teacher arrested for child sex assault

SAN JOSE– An elementary school teacher in San Jose was behind bars Tuesday night after police arrested him earlier in the day on suspicion of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

San Jose police arrested Craig Richard Chandler, who teaches a combined class of second and third graders at O.B. Whaley Elementary School on Alvin Avenue in the southeastern part of the city.
