Why youth love Ron Paul

Ron Paul is resonating with voters – mostly young voters under 30 – because he supports marijuana legalization and an end to U.S. involvement in wars. If Paul came out tomorrow and said he was revising his stance on those two issues, his numbers would drop to just a few percentage points higher than Gary Johnson. The same “Hope and Change” nonsense that helped garner the youth vote in 2008 – a slogan that said we can spend as much as we want and not pay for it – is alive and well in 2012, except this time it’s Ron Paul with his utopian message that under his administration wars will never have to be fought and kids will be free to party all day and night with whatever drug of their choice.

Oh, the idealism and gullibility of youth!
