(NORTHWEST INDIANA TIMES) — State lawmakers could lose their Statehouse parking spot, office space, electronic devices and staff if they fail a drug test under a modification made Monday to House Bill 1007.

The Republican-controlled House voted 81-15 to approve what state Rep. Jud McMillin, R-Brookville, considers a constitutional drug test requirement.

On Friday, the House amended McMillin’s legislation requiring drug tests for recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits to also mandate drug tests for state legislators.
