There are “sanctuary cities” that stand in defiance to federal immigration law. States, counties and cities pass laws to allow the cultivation, distribution and use of marijuana. If local governments are willing to stand up to the federal government on these matters, then why not stand up against federal laws or regulations that impede job creation in our communities? Why not thumb our noses at the EPA, the Endangered Species Act or high-speed rail?
