World-famous atheist Richard Dawkins, author of “The God Delusion,” made headlines just days ago when he said he is an agnostic, not an atheist, because he can’t be 100-percent certain God exists.

The comments came while Dawkins was debating Rowan Williams, the archbishop of Canterbury, at the United Kingdom’s University of Oxford on the origins of nature.

Dawkins said he has no way of disproving God’s existence. But, according to a Christian Post report, he said he’s at 6.9 on a scale of 7 regarding his belief that God does not exist.

On that scale, a person at 1 says “I know God exists” while someone at 7 says “I know God doesn’t exist.”

Evangelist and author Ray Comfort contends that Dawkins wasn’t really thinking when he made the statements.

“Richard Dawkins is ignorant when it comes to the existence of God. However, it’s a willful ignorance. He has in the past stated that he believes that nothing created everything, which is a scientific impossibility. It’s not only impossible, it’s crazy to believe that. That’s why the Bible uses the word ‘fool’ to describe someone who says that God doesn’t exist,” Comfort said.

Comfort’s new book “Hitler, God, and the Bible” and its accompanying movie “180”  have been energizing pro-life activists across the nation with a simple, truthful approach to the issue.

He said, “Professing atheists will often slip into pleading ignorance, but that plea doesn’t solve their case, because they just move from being a ‘fool’ to being an ‘ignoramus.’

“The word ‘ignoramus’ is a legal term derived from a Latin word meaning ‘we do not know,'” Comfort continued. “An ignoramus is like a man who looks at a building and says that he ‘doesn’t know’ if a builder exists. Obviously, the building is proof that there was a builder, because buildings don’t build themselves.

“The reason why anyone would be that ignorant is clear. It’s not a case of a lack of evidence. The problem with Professor Dawkins isn’t intellectual, but moral. He doesn’t want to admit that God exists, because if he does, he’s admitting that he’s morally responsible to Him,” he said.

Comfort, co-host with actor Kirk Cameron of the popular TV series “The Way of the Master,” conducted video interviews as part of his research for the Hitler book.

After the interviews, he realized he had a powerful statement for the issue of life, since those he interviewed were horrified when learned what Hitler really wanted and did. He applied the same perspective – revealing the facts about abortion – and got essentially the same result.

His book is the first of a series of titles about cultural and political icons. The next, scheduled for later this year, is called “The Beatles, God and the Bible.”

“Hitler, God and the Bible” is now available, autographed by Comfort and packaged with “180” video at a special low price exclusively at the WND Superstore.
