Joseph Farah tells us the Obama birth certificate is a “criminal” fraud, but he is wrong. If the document was submitted to a state as evidence that supported his eligibility to run for president, then it would be “criminal.” Obama was not that dumb; it is his right of freedom of speech to lie or say anything not official.

Obama did not appear in the Georgia court where his eligibility was challenged because he would have been under oath, and if he claimed the birth certificate was officially legitimate, he would risk a perjury charge down the road. Lies under oath are not constitutionally protected, as we know.

If Sheriff Joe Arpaio has evidence of criminality, he would not make sloppy press releases that didn’t define the crime.
