(NEWPORTRI) — Louise White, 81, of Newport finally came forward this morning to claim the $336.4 million Powerball jackpot she won on Feb. 11, after purchasing the winning ticket that evening at the Stop & Shop on Bellevue Avenue.

She was greeted at Rhode Island Lottery headquarters in Cranston by a mob of reporters and photographers, who, with the rest of the state, have been eagerly anticipating the identity of the winner.

White lives with her son and daughter-in-law, LeRoy White, a musician and performer, and Deborah White, a surgical nurse at Newport Hospital, in their home on Grafton Street, in the city’s old Fifth Ward neighborhood. Her large family includes many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
