A senator who has battled the green campaign that claims human activities are raising the temperature of the globe is reacting, and not in support, to a federal program that will add oversight to the natural gas industry in the United States.

The new plans for more regulations is just “another layer of bureaucracy,” according to Sen. James Inhofe, author of “The Greatest Hoax.”

According to a report in the Houston Chronicle, Barack Obama is setting up another government group to “coordinate” rules over the industry.

Obama issued an executive order to set up the interagency task force, saying the bureaucrats will see to it the branches of the federal government are working toward the same goal.

Obama wrote, “It is vital that we take full advantage of our natural gas resources while giving American families and communities confidence that natural and cultural resources, air and water quality and public health and safety will not be compromised.”

The agencies expected to be subjected to the new layer of management are the Energy Department, Interior Department and Environmental Protection Agency.

Barry Russell, CEO of the Independent Petroleum Association, told the newspaper he hopes the order “provides the administration with a more comprehensive understanding of the federal government’s increasing regulatory grasp on the industry.”

It was after the “Climategate” scandal – revealing data manipulation and fraud by top global warming proponents – that many climate change skeptics trumpeted victory, assuming perhaps that efforts to pass radical environmental taxes and regulations had lost their steam.

But not Inhofe. He is warning that Obama and his allies in Congress still are determined to pull off the largest wealth-redistribution scheme in history through new “carbon taxes” and regulations.

“The Greatest Hoax” presents evidence that the political left is using global warming hysteria to push a system of regulations and taxes that would not only permanently hobble the U.S. energy sector, but also create a bureaucracy that would exert control over each and every American’s life.

“Senator Jim Inhofe has long been a lonely voice warning about the true mission of the global warming hysterics: Total control over the way Americans live and use energy. From the U.N., to Climategate, to U.S. lawmakers’ pandering to the Friends-of-the-Earth left, ‘The Greatest Hoax’ tells the story of Senator Inhofe’s fight to prevent these frauds from turning America from the most prosperous on Earth into a third world hellhole,” said bestselling author Ann Coulter.

“The global warming religion is an aggressive attempt to use the climate for suppressing our freedom and diminishing our prosperity. Senator Inhofe’s book is an important contribution in the fight against this totally erroneous doctrine, which has no solid relation to the science of climatology but is about power in the hands of unelected global warming activists. Senator Inhofe is, in this respect, one of the world’s most influential voices,” added Václav Klaus, president of the Czech Republic.

“The Greatest Hoax” contends that despite the Climategate scandal and ever-increasing body of evidence and scientists refuting global warming agenda, a renewed push is indeed in the wings, driven by a goal to control carbon and, thus, to control life.
