Jihad in America: Quiet, effective, deadly

If civilization survives the mortal threat posed by jihad – some might think that statement unnecessarily dramatic, but I don’t care if they do – future history books will spotlight a handful of sentinels who saved the rest of us. Robert Spencer comes to mind, Steve Emerson. Pamela Geller makes the list, certainly.
So would Andrew McCarthy.
The author of “Willful Blindness” has now presented us with further proof that Islam is a dire threat … and our government is complicit. In his new book, “The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America,” the former federal prosecutor lifts the curtain on the diabolical efforts going on behind the scenes to bring down America from within.
What I liked most about this compelling book is the fact that McCarthy points out how terrorists are using methods to bring down America … without using the traditionally understood methods of terrorism. In other words, it’s more than planes flown into buildings.
If you want to know just how far some of our “leaders” are from reality – it’s painful, but you should find out, anyway – McCarthy points out that in February 2011, Obama’s director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, declared that the Muslim Brotherhood is “secular.”
Do we even have a national intelligence in Washington?
McCarthy’s shining of a spotlight on the Muslim Brotherhood is particularly chilling. Just try and digest this following tidbit from a Brotherhood memorandum that came to light in the FBI investigation of the Holy Land Foundation: “The Ikhwan [Arabic for 'brothers'] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”
But the Brotherhood is secular, right, Clapper?
And for all the bleeding hearts in the religious left camp in America – a long way of saying “dupes” – it is instructive to learn in “The Grand Jihad” that Palestinian terror groups have used the safe haven of our great country to further their nefarious activities.
Thirty years ago, a trio of Palestinians in Chicago formed something called the Islamic Association of Palestine. The goal? To “communicate the Ikhwan’s point of view” and “to serve the cause of Palestine on the political and media fronts.”
One of the men of IAP, Mousa Abu Marzook, became head of Hamas in the U.S., and when he was arrested, his partner, Khalid al-Mishal, succeeded him. In order to get the full depth of this kind of investigation, by all means get a copy of “The Grand Jihad.”
McCarthy also uncovers a very disturbing story about candidate Barack Obama, from 2008. Speaking on the campaign trail, Obama blurted out that he’d visited Pakistan as a college student, more than 25 years before. Pakistan? Shouldn’t he have been at South Beach?
As we learn, Obama’s three weeks spent in Karachi coincided with the Islamicization of Pakistan, under the martial law imposed by General Zia ul-Haq. As McCarthy rightly asks … how did Obama get into Pakistan? Did he use an American passport? Did he use a passport from another country? We also learn that Obama stayed with a family known to be members of Pakistan’s Muslim League, the Soomros.
We know the left would be dismissive of this story, but those of us who realize there is an existential threat to our country out there would like to hear from the sitting president exactly what he was doing in radical Muslim Pakistan as a green college student.
It’s that kind of information the sets “The Grand Jihad” apart.
McCarthy also notes such fascinating items as the Organization of the Islamic Conference’s “Cairo Declaration,” sort of their version of the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In the Muslim document, we learn that it “reaffirms the civilizing and historic role of the Islamic Ummah, which Allah made the best nation.”
As McCarthy notes, Obama may chafe at American exceptionalism, but his Muslim chums have no problem flexing their Sharia muscles in flagrant violation of basic human rights.
All in all, I found “The Grand Jihad” to be one of the most enlightening books I’ve read on this subject, again, mainly because the author goes to great investigative lengths to uncover the subversive nature of Islam in America. It is well, well worth your time.
