Only in the most extreme circumstances, they said. Only in cases involving significant trauma – rape, incest, or if the mother’s life is in danger. And it’ll only be done when it’s just a little blob of cells; not even able to feel pain.
That’s what proponents of the legalization of abortion on demand in America said in the early ’70s, leading up to 1973 and Roe v. Wade. Abortion subsequently became a booming industry. Since then, those providing abortions have essentially had carte blanche, defining and redefining what constitutes a fetus versus a newborn. Now, anything not having completely exited the birth canal is fair game.
What is more disgusting than abortion itself is the depths to which we as a culture had to sink morally in order to accept and/or disconnect from what is now being done to the unborn.
Voices in the alternative media and the conservative political arena have long said that it was only a matter of time before they got around to it, “they” being the hard-line socialists and Marxists in America and “it” being sex-selective abortion, or gendercide. Rest assured that a host of other terrifying “its” have not yet been unveiled.
It was recently reported that Planned Parenthood is now promoting sex-selective abortion, and of course the abortion lobby, the establishment press and liberals in government are right behind it. The fact that H.R. 3541 (the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act of 2012) was even drafted speaks volumes to the level of depravity many of us now occupy. The fact that the bill was defeated is testimony to the commitment socialist lawmakers have to the leftist culture of death.
As if it isn’t repugnant enough that abortion is practiced in America at all, or that it is practiced as a method of social engineering, or that they’ve gone from evacuating “tiny blobs” to sucking the brains out of newborns’ crania and calling it “termination of pregnancy,” we are now on the verge of yet another incremental advancement of this abomination: a push for the acceptance of sex-selective abortion, which borne out historically translates into culling female infants from the population.
Though many in the West have certainly succumbed to disinformation in the press relative to the encroachment of socialism and the threat it represents to our lives, liberties and social institutions, some have probably been guilty of self-deception in this area. After decades of relative comfort, who wants to believe that we are on the brink of being subjugated by genocidal communist revolutionaries?
For decades, Americans condemned nations such as China (whose “one child per family” law gave rise to the murder of baby girls) and other countries wherein cultural and economic pressures often lead to the practice of gendercide.
Obviously, something changed …
Recently, The Institute on Religion & Democracy issued a press release entitled “Why Are So Many Churches Silent about Gender Selective Abortion?” Mark Tooley, its president, said, “Churches should be among the first to stand up for vulnerable baby girls.” As one might imagine, a great deal of the silence on the part of some churches is due to the fact that secular humanistic, liberal doctrine (such as the acceptance abortion) has been inculcated into many mainstream churches in America and their congregants.
There has been a backlash against gendercide, though – a big one – and it will continue. Lately, Christians (and non-Christians of good conscience) have witnessed this administration and its surrogates’ attack upon religious organizations and a host of constitutional freedoms. This backlash is, hopefully, not only recognition of the nature and dark designs of this president, but the degree to which we have sleepily drifted toward a cold, soulless, society where the State supplants God.
In any case, whether it comes from Catholic bishops or millions bringing this topic to the fore online, the rejoinder has been the same: Enough is enough.
If the left wingers, Marxists and Obamatons thought that Christians would sit still for the ascendency of gendercide, they have another thing coming. Those who oppose this institutional atrocity are not some breakaway bad boy province like Taiwan to be batted down and told to mind its manners. Nor do they mindlessly follow union bosses or career civil-rights activists who are easily manipulated or outright shills for the administration. They can also see the hypocrisy of liberals’ advocating for gendercide whilst accusing their political opponents (many of them Christians) of engaging in a “War on Women.”
Murdering girls because they are female, whether in the womb or after birth is a bridge too far. Christians – still a majority in America – are waking up to the sterile morality of Obama, his counterfeit Christianity and his pandering to the all things left wing. The strange silence of the women’s rights movement is without a doubt one of the most surreal phenomena ever witnessed. Like black Americans, who have willingly subordinated life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to capricious political allies, so-called feminists are subordinating their rights and abdicating their responsibility as women and as human beings by wordlessly defending gendercide.
Are women’s rights now to be determined by age and not gender? Who stands for the legitimate rights of women, and a woman’s right to choose life? Would that Christians be found in the vanguard of protecting life, in utero and after birth. Gendercide must not be the next moral slope that America slides down on its path to the moral abyss. “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.” Those of us who know better and know the absolutes of this God need to take courage and stand tall for life and drag America back from the abyss.
