(POLITICO) After an especially bad day in the crossfire over his time at Bain Capital, Mitt Romney has agreed to a slew of rare sit-down interviews with five major news networks on Friday afternoon.

The presumptive GOP nominee will tape separate interviews with Fox News, CNN, ABC, NBC and CBS on Friday afternoon, an unusual move for a candidate who has shied away from news cameras. The interviews are set to air later tonight, most likely during the early evening newscasts, though the exact timing is unclear.

Romney’s campaign confirmed the interviews in an email to reporters, but did not respond to questions about their content. Romney, who frequently appears on the more-friendly Fox News, has granted only a handful of interviews with the major networks since the end of the primary season.
