George W. Bush did many memorable things during his presidency. He gave us No Child Left Unharmed (aka “No Child Left Behind”), a massive, unfunded Medicare prescription drug benefit and two wars, the real cost of which will ultimately be in the area of $4 trillion.
As of last Thursday, however, one could make an argument that his most memorable “achievement” was nominating Judas John Roberts to the Supreme Court. What a super pick that turned out to be. Clearly, Bush knows a stealth liberal when he sees one. (I’m not buying the theory that Roberts is a cunning chess player who did conservatives a big favor by imposing limits on Congress’ power to make a mockery of the Commerce Clause.)
If the left succeeds in fundamentally transforming the United States into the Socialist Republic of America, Chief Justice Roberts, by virtue of a single unconstitutional decision, can proudly claim that he played a major role in that transformation by bludgeoning the Constitution at a critical juncture in our decline.
After all, by coming up with his Obama-like “it’s a tax” rationale (a rationale with which Barack Obama adamantly disagrees!), for all practical purposes he gave the government a green light to force Americans to buy everything from cigarettes to “I Love Barack Obama” posters … from contraceptives to “I Love Michelle Obama” T-shirts.
As of June 28, 2012, America officially became a nation of serfs. When it comes to the federal government, nothing is over the line now, because the line has been erased. The dictatorship that so many Americans have unwittingly invited into their lives has finally arrived.
All Chairman Obama needs is a few minor adjustments over the next four months, and he’s good to go. And if he should win re-election in November, it would put him in a position to forget the annoying subtleties and move quickly from a soft dictatorship to a hard dictatorship.
A lot of folks are puzzled over the fact that Obama has improved in the polls during the worst month any president has had since the darkest days of Jimmy Carter – White House leaks, the Fast and Furious cover-up, attacking the Catholic Church, unemployment still on the rise, Democratic Party defections, foreign enemies urinating on his leg … and much more.
How in the world can this be? Why is BHO doing so well in the polls when everything is going wrong for him? Hellooo … the answer is pretty obvious: Mitt Romney! What people are telling pollsters, loud and clear, is that Republicans have once again done the unthinkable in nominating a taller version of John McMush.
When you run presidential candidates like Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Bush I and II, Bob Dole, John McMush and Mitt Romney, of course you’re going to end up with pseudo-conservative Supreme Court judges (if your man wins) who vote with their progressive colleagues on important issues.
And if Obama is re-elected, all he needs to do is add a couple more far-left radicals to team up with existing lefties like Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan (Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s days are numbered), and progressives will have bought themselves a good 25 more years to help Americans forget they ever had a Constitution that protected their God-given rights.
So, what does this all mean for the upcoming elections? With the polls showing, at least for now, Obama in the lead, a lot of sane Republicans are coming to the realization that they have a genuine emergency on their hands – a well-deserved emergency, I might add. I say well-deserved because they did everything possible to set up a rerun of their 2008 disaster.
For starters, establishment Republicans ridiculed and ignored Ron Paul, the only candidate in the field who was serious about cutting the budget and courageous enough to tell the American people the truth. They also helped MittMan assassinate a number of his challengers who, for all their flaws, would have probably beaten Barack Obama.
Finally, and most unforgivable, they had neither the motivation nor the good sense to urge some of their best people – e.g., Mitch Daniels, Bobby Jindal, Paul Ryan and Jim DeMint – to throw their hats in the ring.
The bottom line is that Republicans got what they asked for with McMush II. And even if Romney pulls out a victory over Bolshevik Barry in November, they still will end up getting what they asked for. Six months of President Romney, and the party of Lincoln will be on life support. I’d appreciate it if you would quote me on that.
Now hear this: The fanatical left is not America’s biggest problem. They are the clearly defined enemy – an enemy that hates America, hates the Constitution, hates Judeo-Christian values – indeed, an enemy that hates the very essence of Western civilization.
But these despicable and, for the most part, ignorant people would be pushovers for strong-willed, highly principled individuals willing to confront them head on with the facts and do whatever it takes to put an end to their anti-American policies.
Unfortunately, instead of strong-willed, highly principled individuals, the Republicans offer voters RINO caricatures such as Orrin Hatch, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and Eric Cantor. This, not wild-eyed progressives, is what is at the heart of America’s collapse.
I once again emphasize that I do not have anything personal against Mitt Romney. It’s just that he happens to stand for all that is wrong with the Republican Party.
Fickle soul that I am, and notwithstanding a few shortcomings that she has, I think I’m falling in love with Sarah Palin all over again. Say what you will about her, she has the honesty and courage to skip the niceties and say things like “Obama’s socialist policies,” “Obama lies,” and “Nancy Pelosi is a dingbat … the perfect spokesperson for this whole agenda of the far left running the Democrat Party.”
And, as you may have noticed, she refuses to come out strongly in favor of Mitt Romney. What’s not to love?
