(PALM BEACH POST) Palm Beach County School District officials think they may have found a better path to students’ grades — through their stomachs.

Officials said this week that through creative funding, beginning Monday morning the district will make sure all its roughly 175,000 students are offered a free breakfast, and in the process, a chance to perform better in class.

The bold policy move is growing among larger school districts around the country as officials look to improve test scores. It essentially expands use of the federal free and reduced lunch program without taking substantially more money from the district.
