WASHINGTON – Documentary films have long been the purview of the secularists and progressive crowd, but that’s not the case in 2012, as three movies defy the odds at the top of the Amazon charts.
They are “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment,” produced by WND Films and based on the No. 1 bestselling Christian Book of 2012, “Dreams of My Real Father,” a Joel Gilbert examination of Barack Obama’s possible roots, and Kirk Cameron’s “Monumental,” a spiritual and political documentary about the faith that shaped America.
The three movies have shuffled around in the top four documentaries, with “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” dominating the No. 1 spot among all faith films and TV shows since March.
“Something’s happening here,” said Joseph Farah, founder of WND and producer of “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment.” “Where are the films from Michael Moore and Al Gore and all those Academy Award winners known for their documentaries? This year is a banner year for documentaries by people of faith and political incorrectness.”
“I can highly recommend all three of these great documentaries,” said Farah. “In fact, all three should be viewed, if possible, before the 2012 election. Each has something very important to say about the state of America today.”
Commenting on the Democrats’ recent dispute over whether “God” should be mentioned in the political party’s platform, he said, “According to our forefathers, God IS the platform.”
