Michael Savage: Here's what you didn't see at DNC

Most radio talk show hosts covered the Democratic National Convention by talking about what they were seeing on TV. Instead, Michael Savage told listeners to question what they weren’t seeing, specifically: why some powerful party operatives decided not to attend the DNC (FREE audio).
“Governor Cuomo is nowhere to be seen,” Savage pointed out. “He doesn’t want to be associated with this bunch of left-wing fanatics because it will come back to haunt him.
“There’s another Democrat who I haven’t seen,” Savage added, “Chuck Schumer.”
Savage speculated that Schumer’s support for Israel has made him unpopular in today’s Democratic Party.
For Michael Savage, the most telling moment during the convention came during a vote on whether to return the word “God” to the party platform (FREE audio).
“Can you imagine, a nation founded on the principles of God is being taken over by a party that despises God, denies God’s existence and wants to stab Israel in the back in order to support the Islamists who would kill the Jews and drive them out of the Middle East?” Savage asked.
Limbaugh says he “just about threw up” during Michelle Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention (FREE audio).
He couldn’t believe how out of touch the Obamas are – by their own admission – about how much ordinary Americans are suffering during this economic downturn, brought on through Obama’s own policies.
Rush also chided conservatives who insist that “you can’t run a Reagan-style campaign in 2012.” On the contrary, said the radio host, the GOP should attack Obama’s record head on, just like Reagan did during his campaign against Jimmy Carter in 1980 (FREE audio).
Four years ago, Democratic Congressman Artur Davis made history when he seconded Barack Obama’s nomination for president at the DNC. Today, Davis is a Republican who addressed the GOP convention in support of Mitt Romney.
Sean Hannity asked Davis, “What changed?” (FREE audio)
“Most Americans don’t think we are better off than we were four years ago. Americans measure their lives by basic standards. Are they working, is there value in their mortgages, is the cost of living higher and do they have confidence in their economic future?”
For Davis, the answer is clearly “no.”
“I used to be a center-left Democrat,” Davis explained. “I no longer felt there was a place for me, and the truth is the Republican Party is the bigger tent in American society today.”
Investigative journalist Aaron Klein went to the DNC and tried to talk about George Soros’ role as a major Democratic Party donor – but his questions were cut short by a left-wing broadcaster from “Democracy Now!”
The liberal radio reporter asked Klein a leading question about Republican donor Sheldon Adelson, the casino mogul. Klein turned the question around, but at the mention of Soros’ name, he was told, “The interview’s over.”
On Klein’s show this week, he explained that the progressive idea that “voter ID laws are racist” is based on faulty data. As an expert on Middle East affairs, Klein also talked about the possibility of pre-emptive military strike on Iran occurring before the November election.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio also granted Klein his first interview since federal charges against him were suddenly dropped. Plus, regular guest comedian Jackie Mason had a lot to say about Clint Eastwood’s controversial address to the GOP convention (FREE audio).
The Democrats are so desperate, and have turned off so many normal, average Americans who’ve been watching their crazy convention, that their only hope is to “go for the transgender vote” (FREE audio).
That was Mark Levin’s verdict after forcing himself to sit through hours of sex-obsessed, factually challenged speeches coming out of the DNC.
Levin’s radio show airs at the same time as the convention’s major prime time speeches, which led to plenty of hilarity as Levin mocked the likes of Harry Reid live on the air. Levin couldn’t help laughing scornfully as the aging senator from Nevada spouted a stream of hot air (FREE audio).
Die-hard Obama supporter Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, insisted to a disbelieving Ingraham that if the president is allowed a second term, the promises he made to African-Americans would finally come to fruition.
Republican South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley laughed off the Democrat’s phony “War on Women,” telling them to “bring it!” She condemned the DNC’s overwhelming obsession with abortion and birth control, stating the Republicans are the ones seriously addressing the core economic issues that women really care about.
Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece came on the show to talk about the real King legacy. Dr. Alveda King claimed that MLK was in fact pro-life and against gay marriage.
“How is killing black babies uplifting to the black community?” King wondered (FREE audio).
Given his high profile, controversial broadcaster Glenn Beck is used to being treated harshly in public. The level of hostility he says he endured during a recent American Airlines flight, however, shocked him.
He claims the flight attendant singled him out for “subhuman” service. American Airlines issued an apology after Beck discussed the incident on his radio show.
And now, from the left side of the dial …
Progressives can’t stop talking about Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican National Convention.
Case in point: Al Sharpton, who at least managed to put a heretofore unheard-of spin on the actor’s performance.
You guessed it: Sharpton accused Eastwood of being a “birther” (FREE audio).
Yet as Brian Maloney of Radio Equalizer points out, “For a real knee-slapper, however, we direct your attention to [Sharpton's] assertion President Bush never would have been treated this way. Where do we begin to pick that apart?”
