(Philadelphia Inquirer) After six months of turmoil, the Chester County high school principal who called a disabled student a “psychopath” and joked that a Latino teen was destined to be a gardener has lost his job.

Oxford Area School District board members voted, 8-1, Thursday night to accept the resignation of David C. Madden, who in e-mails not only belittled students but also seemed to threaten the superintendent.

Members of the audience of about 50 clapped and cheered after the vote. Madden’s resignation takes effect June 30.
