The U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was attacked and destroyed. The U.S. ambassador, Chris Stevens, aide Sean Smith and two former Navy SEALs, Tyrone S. Woods and Glen A. Doherty, were killed.

There is no information yet as to the cause of the deaths of the three men, but the details of Ambassador Stevens’ death fits the pattern of other Americans killed by Muslim fanatics.

He was beaten and raped by the mob before he died. Grisly photos show him dead, being dragged through the streets with a gash on his head.

“Smoke inhalation” indeed, although that was the first story issued to what is perceived as a “gullible public.”

The U.S. Embassy in Cairo was almost simultaneously attacked, with the American flag destroyed and replaced by a black, Islamic flag.

The initial reason for the violence, we were told, was a short film made in the United States that supposedly insults Islam.

More fodder for the “gullible public.”

Strange isn’t it that the violence against America coincided with the 11th commemoration of the 9/11 attacks on the United States?

Gosh, just another of those coincidences – a day of mourning for Americans but a day of celebration for the terrorists who are, despite what the man who is president says, militant Islamists.

The official Washington word is that this all came out of nowhere.  They hadn’t a clue.

But what about reports days earlier that an attack was imminent? European press, as well as Middle East media, reported the threats, but the U.S. State Department did nothing.

The Cairo Embassy military guards were denied ammunition in their weapons. The Libyan Consulate had no U.S. military guards, leaving Ambassador Stevens and other Americans at the mercy of Libyan security officers who apparently revealed the supposed “safe house” to the mob.

The rest is history: The Middle East is in flames with rioting in Europe and Australia and spreading.

And we’re supposed to believe the violence was caused by a short, so-called “anti-Muslim” film made in the U.S. and seen only on YouTube?

At first, it was reported the producer was a Jew. Then the story was changed, but the perpetrator was equally distasteful to the media: It was a conservative Christian.

Interesting, isn’t it, how the “gullible public” is fed the same propaganda line every time?

Now the man has been identified, was questioned by law enforcement in California, supposedly has a record and is on probation.

So?

The real question is: Did he break any law by making what is reportedly a cheap, insipid video?

The last time I looked, we have free speech in this country, and it isn’t against the law to make fun of people and religion. It may be distasteful but it isn’t illegal – yet.

“Artists” get away with such obscenities as “Piss Christ,” a crucifix in urine, or a “painting” of the Virgin Mary covered with elephant dung – just two of many such deliberately anti-Christian “statements” which the elite laud as art.

But raise an eyebrow about Islam – and all hell breaks loose, literally.

It seems we have free speech about everything but Islam, and it appears we’re on the road to codifying such limitations of the First Amendment. It’s the law in Canada now, and the U.N. is pushing the idea worldwide. With the crew now in Washington, it’s just a matter of time.

By the way, the feds say the film’s producer is being investigated for violating probation; on the other hand, the militants demand his beheading.

Religion of peace, indeed.

And what’s with the State Department? It must have something to do with Democrat women running the place.

First, we have to tolerate Secretary of State Hillary Clinton – the second woman ever to hold that position – pontificating about who did what to the American Embassy in Egypt and who attacked, tortured and killed the American ambassador to Libya, along with three other Americans.

According to Miz Hill, “We condemn the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims” and “The U.S. deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.”

Then came denials the White House approved such statements.

Finally, Clinton wailed, “How could this happen in a country we helped liberate, in a city we helped save from destruction?”

If she had a modicum of decency, she’d resign.

Remember, this woman still has aspirations to be president. If you ever see her name on the ballot, remember what happened last week and how it was mishandled by the federal department Hillary Clinton heads.

Second, we have to tolerate former Secretary of State Madelyn Albright – the first woman ever to hold that position, under Bill Clinton, by the way – pontificating to a group of Jewish women in Florida (voters for Obama anyone?) as to how the most important thing for Americans is to be aware of how they exercise their freedom of speech and that “… if we expect to be respected, we need to respect other religions.”

I’m sorry, when did I become Alice and wake up in Wonderland?

When did the appeasement bug infect Miz Madelyn and Hillary?

Oh that’s right, it infects every one of those liberal, progressive, socialist, fascist, Marxist, communists under the Democrat banner, and it infests every level of the administration in charge.

According to them, from the man who is president on down to your local, door-to-door liberal activist, the only people who are biased, intolerant and vindictive, especially to Muslims, are conservatives, Republicans, Christians and anyone else they can stuff under the umbrella of right-wing, redneck, God-fearing wackos.

You know, the ones the media consider “gullible.”

I pray the media are wrong.
