I’m wondering when conservatives are going to get over this irrational fear of felons voting ["Obama-backing group fights for felons' votes"]. It seems you assume they all vote Democrat.
I was convicted of felonies 20-25 years ago. I’m now a born-again Christian, and I’m 45 credit hours through with a 90 credit hour Master of Divinity degree. I have voted Republican since Bob Dole ran for president. I send money to Republicans like Michele Bachmann and Todd Akin. He is a good conservative, and since he asked forgiveness, I gave it. In addition to sending the Romney campaign money, I have been going down to the Republican campaign headquarters to make phone calls for him.
Are you a Christian? If you aren’t I’d like to invite you to accept Jesus into your life. If you are I would like to ask you to extend some Christian forgiveness to those who have paid their legal debt for the crimes committed. We live all around you. We might do your hair, sell you cars, fix your meals at restaurants, process your credit card orders when you buy things, or even serve in your church.
