In a primetime special report over the weekend, Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., criticized President Obama for putting his environmental politics ahead of putting Americans back to work.
Inhofe, author of “The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future,” explained the White House’s repeated stonewalling of the Keystone XL Pipeline, which would bring crude oil from Canada to refineries in the U.S., is costing jobs.
“We have all this capability, not just in producing and exploring, but also the pipelines going through,” Inhofe said. “We have to keep the production in America.”
Inhofe appeared on a Fox News special report Sunday night called “Behind Obama’s Green Agenda.”
The documentary focused on critics’ charges that Obama’s “doctrine of sustainable development” means a lot more than just “going green,” but rather using regulatory schemes to fight racism, promote homosexuality, restrict growth and farming and achieve socioeconomic goals that have nothing to do with the environment. The Environmental Protection Agency, critics allege, has overstepped its bounds to become a strong arm for Obama’s political goals.
Furthermore, despite promising “green” jobs, Obama’s investments in environmental causes have resulted in more scandal and controversy than tangible results.
“Obama has promised to boost the economy by creating millions of green jobs,” Fox News host Bret Baier explained during the program. “Taxpayers have spent billions, but the green economy has yet to roar.”
Yet while backers of the Keystone Pipeline have argued its completion would produce thousands of jobs, the oil flowing through it has given Obama’s “green” plans pause. The White House has said it’s concerned the pipeline could pollute aquifers it crosses over, would accelerate global warming and would violate what EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson calls “environmental justice.”
Baier brought the concerns before Inhofe: “The environmental justice argument goes something like, ‘The Keystone Pipeline will end up in Port Arthur, Texas, the refineries in the neighborhood largely populated by minorities. The refining process will therefore pollute –'”
One of the Obama EPA’s most vocal critics, Inhofe contends power brokers in an ever-expanding federal government have been using the global global-warming, climate-change issue in an effort to dramatically and hugely increase government regulation of American lives and businesses, necessarily raising the cost of living and taxes to achieve political ends.
His book “The Greatest Hoax” claims to reveal the reasons behind those perpetuating the global warming myth, who is benefitting from the general acceptance of it and why the premise behind man-made climate change is blatantly and categorically false.
