Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren apparently has pushed Republican Scott Brown out of the U.S. Senate long held by Ted Kennedy that he occupied during a special election in 2010 at the height of the fight in Washington over Obamacare.
Warren was getting 53 percent of the vote to Brown’s 47 percent with partial returns tabulated.
Brown won the seat in a January 2010 special election after the death of long-time Sen. Edward Kennedy from cancer.
In a closely watched U. S. House race to fill the seat left open by the retirement of Barney Frank, Joseph Kennedy, III, the grandson of the late attorney general and Sen. Robert Kennedy, easily defeated second-time candidate Sean Bielat.
