Bring Brits' health system across the pond

It should be obvious to everyone that America needs a decent health-care scheme. But this repeated knocking of the British health-care system is just not true.
As an example, my father-in-law was taken violently ill at 8 p.m. on a Sunday evening. The doctor was sent for; he arrived in 10 minutes. Ten minutes later an ambulance arrives, and he is taken into the local hospital. Two hours later he is operated on for gallstones. Is that fast enough? Oh, by the way, all free.
Another example of the awful system we have here: I know of a medication here that costs $2,700 for 30 tablets – in the U.K. it is free, but the health scheme pays $45 for it, from the same American company!
Another example of the British system … I had a tax problem in the U.K. I telephoned the tax authority and spoke to a gentleman about the problem. He investigated, found other errors they had made, sorted it all out. Total time was 22 minutes. Can you see that happening here? More like 22 years.
If you need further examples of a system gone wrong, ask me. Whatever happened to common sense?
I used to be a Republican, but I like to think that actions speak louder than words.
